Chapter 1-The Meeting

The bright light shined down on the blond haired person. He started to move around as the light was trying to sneak inside his closed eyes.

“What the…?” He groaned, as he opened his eyes slowly.

He sat up from the cold metal bed and looked around the room. He was surround by metal. From metal walls to metal floors.

“How the heck am I?”

The door opened as a girl with long black hair and brown eyes, walked in the room, while was carrying a clipboard underneath her right arm. She wore a grey skirt that was up to her knees with a jacket to go with the uniform and black boots.

“You must be…” She looked at her clipboard. “Nick…Nick Carter.” She titled her head and grinned. “Correct?”

“Um…yeah...” Nick was confused.

“Great. Well, it’s nice to meet you.” She extended her arm to shake with his. “I’ll be taking care of you, until there’s any new orders from the captain. Is there any questions you’ll like to ask me before I take you around the place?”

“Yeah…where am I and…who are you?”

The girl took a deep breath in. “I’m in the highest ranks for the Arky and you, have been chosen to help us on a mission.”

Nick was puzzled. “What…? What mission?”

The girl shook her head. “They didn’t tell you…did they?”

“Who’s they?”

“The other Arky’s.”

“What the heck are…Arko?”

The girl placed her free arm on her hips. “Your mean Arky.”

“Arhy…Arho. Who cares!” Nick stood up and clinched his fist. “Can someone please, explain to me what the hell is going on!?!” He raised his voice.

“Great! They really didn’t tell him anything…’sigh’…here it goes.” The girl thought, as she sat down on the metal bed.

“Nick, sit down and I’ll explain everything to you.”

Nick did what he was told and sat next to her.

“Okay…I’ll started from the beginning.” She took a deep breath. “First of all, right now you’re on a spaceship…and we’re out in space…”

Nick’s month dropped open with sock. “What?!? No way!”

“If you don’t believe me, just look outside the window.”

He stared at her for a second, unsatisfied. Then he looked out the window without leaving his seat.

“…Great.” He moaned. “So, what other things do you have to tell me?”

“Well, Arky is a…well, what you humans call it, army. But instead we fight out in space for what’s rightfully ours and for the peace of the universe.”

“Okay…and?”

“Well…the spaceship is heading towards my home planet, Aaronda.”

“Anything else?”

“Umm…I think that’s all…” Her mind went blank.

“What about the mission?”

“Oh yeah! We…I mean I, will be helping you to train, to get ready for the mission.” “But what the mission about?”

“There’s gonna be a fight and you’ll-”

The door opened and a lady in her mid thirties walked in the room.

“Oh man…not now.” The girl thought, as she stood up straight and greeted the lady.

“Captain Zeno. How was your-” The girl began to say.

“Don’t try to suck up to me.” Captain Zeno said, in a snobby tone.

“But I-”

Captain Zeno gave her an evil look. “Are you talking back to me?”

The girl lowered her head. “No Captain Zeno, please forgive me. I’m just a…”

“Stupid girl.” Captain Zeno said, with a smirk on her face.

“Man! Some captain this is.” Nick thought to himself.

The girl raised her head and thought, with a straight face. “One day…just ONE day! I’m gonna kill that old bag!”

“Now go and bother someone else.”

The girl bowed. “Yes, Captain Zeno.” She started to walk out of the room.

“I swear I’ll get her back for every bad thing that she has done to me.” An evil grin started to appear on her face. “And that’s a promise.”

“I hope she wasn’t bothering you?” Captain Zeno asked.

“No. She was just-”

“Well, if she gets annoying just treat her like…what you humans call it, dirt. Understand?”

“What’s her problem?” Nick thought.

“Do you understand?” She repeated.

“…Yes.” He nodded.

“Well, while you’re on this spaceship, you can look around the place if you wish…” She started to look around the room.

“Where did that girl go?”

“Hello…? You sent her away.” Nick thought, sarcastically.

“I’m sorry about this. That stupid girl is never around when you need her. Well then, you can just look around the place by yourself.”

Before Nick could answer back, she was walking out the door.

She stopped and turned around. “It’s best if you get some rest now. It’s a long journey.” She started to walk out the door again.

“Some welcome that was.” Nick mumbled.

***2 hour later***
“Nick…Hey Nick.” A soft voice was heard.

Nick opened his eyes and all he could see was the shadow of a girl.

“Who…who are you…?”

“I’m the person you meet today.”

“Oh! It’s you.” He sat up.

She clicked her fingers and the lights came on.

“Sorry to wake you up, but do you want me to tour you around the spaceship…and plus, I have a surprise for you too.”

“A surprise?”

“Yeah, a surprise. So you wanna come or not?”

“Sure...”

Nick got off the bed and they started to walk out of the room. He stopped.

“Hey.”

“Yes…” She stopped and turned around.

“I didn’t catch your name?”

“Jessica, but you can call me Jess.”

After walking past four doors, Nick began to wonder.

“Hey, why did the Captain call you stupid girl?” Nick said, shyly.

“Oh that….” Jessica looked down. “She has been calling me that since the first day I came here…” She rolled her eyes. “But, I’m use to it.”

“I think…” She muttered.

“But why don’t you tell her off…for calling you that?”

“Yeah, and be killed! I don’t think so. But anyway, let’s get going.”

***30 minutes later***
“This is my good friend, Amya.” Jessica said.

“Nice to meet you.” Amya said, as she shook hands with him.

“Same.” Nick said.

Amya stood up from her chair. “Hey Jess, I’ll meet you at the place, understand?”

“Yeah, I’ll see ya there.”

Jessica faced Nick as Amya left the room.

“Well, that’s mostly everything that you need to know for now…But now, for your surprise.” Jessica said.

They walked down the corridor and stopped in front of a door that had the words, “Special Room” on it.

Jessica faced Nick. “Well, I’m gonna leave you now. So, just enter through this door by pressing that button there and if you want me for any reason, I’ll be around the spaceship or either I’m in my room. You know where it is right?”

“Yep and Jess…”

“Yeah?”

“Thanks for showing me around the place.”

She grinned. “Your welcome.”

Nick watch as Jessica turned and headed down the corridor. He took a deep breath and pressed the button.

“Guys?!?”
