Chapter 6 - The Target For Blaming Or Shouting At?

Once they were inside, Katie took them down the corridor, until they stoped in front of a big white door, which it said. ’Backstreet Boys Dressing Room.’

Melissa and Erin looked at each other and thought. “Were going to meet the Backstreet Boys!”

“Hey, can you guys wait here.” Katie said.

She was about to turn the knob.

“Kate, what are you doing?” Melissa asked.

“I’m walking inside this room.”

“But it’s the Backstreet Boys dressing room!”

“Well, deerrr…of course it is. But I need to get my Hello Kitty bag because I was dancing with … yeah…well…um. You get the point, I’ll be back.”

“Kate…” Melissa tugged her shirt’s sleeve. “Isn’t the bsb in there?”

“No way. There still up on stage, preforming.”

The crowd from above started to scream and the three girls could hear the Backstreet Boys saying their good byes.

“Maybe not, then.” Katie said.

Melissa lets go of her sleeve.

They watched as Katie walked in the room and come back out with her bag. “There…come guys, let’s go. They’re waiting for us.” She closed the door. “Who’s waiting for us?” Erin asked.

She smiles. “You’ll know soon…now come on, or will be late!”

Katie continued to walk down a long corridor with more then ten white doors on each sided. She stopped and said. “We’re here.” She turned the knob and opened the door.

“Hello Katie and her…” AJ began to say. He started to walk towards Katie and her friends but then he saw the look that Nick was giving him, that said. “You say ‘lovely’ and you’re dead.”

“And her friends.” He smiled.

Katie walked up to the Backstreet Boys. They were standing in a group, next to their tour bus. AJ joined the group again.

“Hey guys! Great performance.” Katie commented.

“Thanks.” They all said, in a different time, to each other.

“Oh yeah,” She turned to her friends. “These are my friends. Erin and Melissa.”

Erin and Melissa were shocked at what they were seeing in front of their eyes. They couldn’t even believe that they were really meeting the Backstreet Boys. Melissa was the one who was shocked the most and she looked like she was about the faint.

The Backstreet Boys said ‘hi’ and ‘nice you meet you.’ To Katie’s friends and when Erin and Melissa finally snapped out of ‘frozen land,’ they shook hands with them, but they were still shocked at what they saw.

“Well, it looks like everyone’s here.” Kevin looks around to double checks, just in case. “Yep, everyone’s here. Let’s go.”

The Backstreet Boys and the three girls got on the bus.

“I can’t believe I’m in the Backstreet Boys tour bus.” Erin thought to herself.

The other girls looked around the place. Erin and Melissa started to unwind now and started to relax about them actually being up close and meeting the Backstreet Boys.

“You know. This is just like in the MTV thing that you guys did…umm…when you had a camera each and you had recorded what you were doing.” Katie began.

The Backstreet Boys tried to remember.

“I remember that!” Brian said. He told the other guys as they started to remember too. A person dress in blue, walked in the room.

“Hi guys, ready to go? And I see we got company tonight.”

“Yeah, we do and we’re ready to go anytime.” Kevin answered.

“Okay.” He turned around and headed for the driver’s seat.

Kevin turned to the girls. “Sit down and relax. I’ll explain what’s gonna happen, for tonight.”

Everyone sat down on the couches. But for Brian and AJ who decided to stand up, while Howie walked off into the kitchen.

The motor of the bus began to rumble and then it started to move.

“Right now, we’re going back to the hotel, to get changed and then we’re going out to eat. Is that okay with you three?” Kevin asked.

“Plus, if you want. We can take you home after dinner or if you wanna stay with us longer. You can sleepover and we can take you back home early in the morning.” Howie said, as he walked back in the room.

“Well, you guys…what do you think?” Katie asked.

Erin and Melissa weren’t so sure about this. But after hearing Katie whined for more then 2 minutes of giving her opinion on why they should sleepover, they finally gave up.

Erin stood up with her fist clinched tight and it was ready to hit someone. “Fine then!” Erin shouted. “Kate, you are so irritating!”

Katie smiled and stood up. “Thanks.”

“Well then, that’s settled and Kate, why do you always have to do that whining?” Melissa asked.

“What whining?” She answered in a cheeky way.

“You know what I mean.” Melissa had a straight face and it was no laughing matter when she had that face expression.

“Well maybe it’s because we finally have the chance to hang out with the bsb.”

“Kate, that’s not an answer. That’s only what you want.”

“But-” Katie began.

“No buts, Kate.”

“Come on Kate! Just tell us why you do that stupid whining?” Erin said.

“I…I don’t know…?” She looked down to think about it.

“Kate!” Erin and Melissa growled at her.

The boys were still in the same room and they all started to look around the room.

Kevin was beginning to laugh and so he tried to hold it in but it didn’t work so he burst out laughing.

“What’s so funny.” Erin snapped.

“I’m sorry, but you girls remind me of us.” Kevin said.

“What!?!” Melissa and Erin said.

Katie sat back down on the nearest couch that was next to Nick.

“Well, it’s just that, what you three are doing, is just like with us, when Nick gets in trouble by us.”

“Hey!” Nick shouted. “You don’t have to tell the whole world about it.”

Melissa and Erin started to cool down as soon as they found the funny side of things. The engine of the bus stoped.

The man in the blue uniform came back into the room. “We’re here.” Then he turned around and walked out of the bus.

“Thanks man!” Brian shouted.

Before Nick got up he whispered something in Katie’s ear and then he started to walk out the door. “Hey, I’m gonna get changed. I’ll see ya in Kev’s room.”

The rest of the boys nodded. But Katie was still sitting on the couch.

Erin and Melissa walked up to her, to apologies.

“Hey Kate, we’re sorry about earlier on.” Melissa began.

Katie didn’t move. She had her head tucked into her knees, as she was holding onto her legs, really tight.

“Yeah Kate, we’re sorry.” Erin said.

She still didn’t move.

“Kate, are you okay?” Melissa asked. Katie looked up at her with red, watery eyes. “Of course I’m okay.” She stood up. “I’m always, okay. After all this always happens.”

“What does?” Melissa asked.

“What does? Well, I’ll let me see...you guys always shouting the heck out of me and after that you apologies, once YOU, cool down! And I’m suppose to say, ‘oh, it’s okay’. I don’t think so!” She shouted.

Katie ran out of the bus.

“Kate…!” Erin shouted.

“Hey!” Melissa shouted.

Erin and Melissa looked at each other and sighed. “She’s pissed.”

“That was pretty bad. Aren’t you gonna run after her…to patch things up?” Brian suggested.

“Brian, I don’t think you know how fast Kate, can run, do you?” Melissa asked.

“Actually, she nearly ran me over when...” Brian began to say.

“Anyway… moving on.” Erin interrupted. “Does she know what room number you guys are staying at?” Erin asked.

The Backstreet Boys smiled and said. “Yeah.” They all looked at each other and hoped what Nick whispered into her ear, was the room number.

“Well, that was refreshing. Can we get goin’ now.” AJ asked.

“Yeah, let’s go.” Kevin said.

Everyone got off the bus and started to walk towards the hotel.

***20 minutes later***
The Backstreet Boys finished getting changed while the two girls fixed up their hair.

Everyone was in Kev’s room but for Katie, Brian and Nick. But Nick and Brian went to get something in Nick’s room.

“Maybe we were too harsh on her.” Erin said.

“Don’t worry about it. She’ll be here.” Melissa said.

‘Knock, knock!’ Erin and Melissa stood up form their chair.

“I’ll get it.” Kevin said. He opened the door.

“Hey!” The person said.

Brian walked into the room.

“Bri, where’s Nick?” Kevin asked.

“He’s coming…” Brian smiled.

***10 minutes later***
‘Knock, knock, knock!’ A hard and loud thump knocked on the door.

Kevin went to get the door.

“Nick, where were you?”

“Talking with a friend.” He walked in, while he holding a person’s hand so he could drag her in the room.

“Kate!” Melissa and Erin said. They got up from their chairs and ran up to her. “Kate, we are so sorry about before.” Erin said.

She smiled and answered. “Yeah, I know you are, Nick, told me everything.”

“So…you forgive us?” Erin asked.

“Maybe…maybe not.” She smiled.

“Kate…it’s good to have you back.” Melissa said. She hugged her and whispered. “It was starting to get boring around here, without ya, Kate.”

“Thanks.” Katie whispered back.

“Now that every ones here. Where do you want to go for dinner?” Howie asked.

Everyone thought about it and all they could come up was eating French, McDonalds, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Seafood and Pizza.

“Hey, why don’t we just have a nice, non-fancy dinner?” Katie suggested.

“But where?” Brian asked.

Everyone thought for awhile.

“Why don’t we go to a park?” Melissa suggested, as she remembered the picnic with her friends, today.

“Great idea…um, what’s you name again?” Howie asked.

“Melissa.” She said, in a shy voice and smiled.

Howie walked up to her and smiled at her. “That’s a lovely name, Melissa. And didn’t I see you in the…um…second row, right?”

Melissa couldn’t believe that Howie actually remembered her from the concert. She began to blush. “Yeah…”

“You guys…I think the picnic is off.” Katie said. She was standing next to the window and down below was a lot of bsb fans.

Everyone walked over where Katie was standing to look down below.

“Well, you guys wanna disguise our selves and sneak out and then go to the park, that’s far away from here.” AJ asked.

Everyone agreed.

***30 minutes later***
While the Backstreet Boys finished disguising themselves, the girls packed the foods that they made and bought from the hotel. But the boys helped out with the food packing and brought along some things that they would need, for the picnic.

The boys dressed in their causal cloths. Nick wore a black t-shirt with some picture or pattens on it and his black jeans, Brian wore his plain blue t-shirt with a small logo on the front and his blue jeans and AJ wore a sleeveless shirt that was grey and black baggy jeans. Howie wore a red t-shirt and his black jeans while Kevin wore his long sleeved shirt that was white with a logo on it and he wore his blue jeans.

“That’s all we need.” Erin said to the others. “Kev and I checked it twice.”

“And now, we’re ready to go.” Brian said. He just got off the phone. “I’ve just rented two cars. So we’ll have to have two groups of four.”

“Who’s gonna drive the cars?” Katie asked.

“Kev and myself.” Brian answered.

“Well then, I’m gonna go with ya.”

“Me too!” Nick said.

Nick and Katie walked next to Brian.

“I’ll go with Kev then.” Melissa said.

“I’ll join ya.” Howie said.

They walked next to Kevin and now it was just AJ and Erin turn to choose.

“I think I’ll go with Brian, ‘cuz I wanna see what these two gets up to in a car.” AJ said, with a cheeky smile as he looked at Nick.

“Hey! We’re just friends, AJ” Nick said.

“Whatever, Nick.”

“Well, I guess I’m with you, Kev.” Erin said, as she walked next to him.

“That was easy. Anybody knows what park we’re goin to?” Katie asked.

“We’re going to Tanga Park.” AJ said.

“Okay…” She had no idea where the park was.

“How long is the drive to the park?” Melissa asked.

“A whole 30 minutes drive.” Howie answered.

“Great…you guys have each other to talk to, while I’m stuck with three guys.” Katie said.

“Isn’t that a good thing, Kate?” Nick asked.

“Yeah, of course it is.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

“Nothing at all but… I’m just gonna miss my friends. That’s all.”

“Kate, that’s the lamest thing I have ever hear you say. You know your just loving this inside yourself.” Erin said.

“So what?” Katie smiled.

“Well, let’s get going. Shall we.” Brian said.

The Backstreet Boys putted on a hat or sunglass on.

Once everybody walked out the door the Backstreet Boys got ready. Brian told them that the cars were parked outside the hotel. They got the keys from the lobby and started to walk outside.

The crowd was going wild with screaming and yelling, for the BSB. None of the fans recognised any of the boys.

The Backstreet Boys and the girls walked in different groups.

AJ and Katie was the first ones to walk out of the hotel, they linked their arms together, just to pretend that they were a couple in front of the crowd. Brian and Nick was next, they just walked towards the car as quickly as they could. Erin and Kevin was next and they just done the same thing as Brian and Nick, Howie and Melissa walking toward the car last and as they where walking, Howie grabbed her hand and held it tight. They both smiled at each other.

Both cars started up. Kevin drove a red car while Brian drove a white car. Kevin drove off first while Brian’s car tagged behind. The boys took of their disguise, after the cars drove off.
