The City of Conover's NEWWTP sits in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Catawba County, North Carolina. The newest addition of the City of Conover's plant came on line in 1991. Before that, there were two constructed facilities, one in 1981 and one in 1964. The treatment plant discharges into Lyle Creek and has a 7Q10 of 32% of the stream. The plant has a discharge capacity of 1.5 MGD. The treatment process is a ABJ ICEAS Squencing Batch Reactor with a Zimpro shallow bed sand filter.
