Southern Belle's Ode to Dangerous Men
By Ginger Strivelli
Dip Ares in chocolate and throw him to me
And we'll see what a prude I turn out to be
Or send the highlander Duncan McLeod my way
And just wait to see what nasty things I can say
Not to mention, the things I would do, oh my,
If ya'll knew what I was thinking, I'd just die!
It's not my fault, it is that Dangerous Man's luck
Makes even us proper ladies want to…ah…ah…buck
Tradition and proper manners and such stuff
When we see these dangerous men all rude and rough
I do declare, I need a sweetened iced tea, getting way too hot
I should stop this this instant, alas, I think not
It isn't my fault, I do declare, 'tis some evil curse, I believe
That makes me long for a Vampire to haunt my eve
What is it about these not so gentlemen, that make me swoon and faint
I swear, it is as if I am being chased by a big ole haint
I can't get away, but then, if I could I would just fake a fall
And lay tangled in my thirteen petticoats after all
looking helpless and innocent and meek and afraid
when all I want is to get…ah…ah…some lemonade?
Yes, must be a good hostess, and serve a drink to the demon
I'd better stop this story now…but I'll keep dreamin'
