Megan was on her way home from Amanda's when she got stuck in traffic. It was still pretty early in the morning so it's not like she'd miss her date with Nick. She was really looking forward to it but the only problem was that she ruined a friendship for it. But Amanda was being so self centered that she didn't care anymore. But was it really that important to ruin a friendship over? Not at all.
Amanda was trying to figure out a way to stop this date from happening. She couldn't believe she was doing this because she hates Nick. Why would it bug her so much to have him go on a date with her best friend? Amanda was falling in love faster than she could take it. The only thing was that she didn't realize it.
Nick sat on his swing while it moved back and forth. He had a date with Megan tonight but all he thought about was Amanda. He was attracted to Megan but he knew deep down inside he liked Amanda. Even though he didn't show it he knew he did. When he first met her, there was something about her he liked. That was until she was being really rude. But what Nick knows and will forever know is that opposites attract and they sure are opposites. He let his thoughts go on about Amanda for a while before they trailed back to Megan.
"Gosh, what am I going to do about this date?" Amanda said aloud.
"Ah Ha! That's what I'll do."
Nick had never heard her voice on the phone so he wouldn't know if it was her....or Megan. Her plan was to call Nick pretending to be Megan and say she couldn't go out tonight. Then she was going to go over Nick's and ask him out to see a movie. That was low for Amanda, to ask someone out that she didn't like but she couldn't let him go out with Megan. Megan would be waiting all night for Nick to show up and he never would.
"Let's just hope this plan works." Amanda said.
She dialed Nick's number (she had overheard Nick give it to Megan) and waited for someone to pick up.
"Hello?" he answered.
"Hi, Nick? This is Megan." Amanda said as close to Megan's voice possible.
"Hey."
"I called to tell you that I have to cancel our date tonight. I forgot I promised my mom I'd go over to see her tonight. I'm sorry."
"Oh, all right. I understand."
"Can I take a rain check on this date?"
"Yeah."
"Ok, I'll talk to you later Nick."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Amanda hung up the phone and yelled, "Yes."
She waited about 10 minutes before going over there so Nick wouldn't suspect a thing. She walked over to his door and knocked lightly. He opened the door with a sad look on his face and suddenly Amanda felt bad for what she did. Then a second later she wasn't.
"Hi." Nick said.
"Hi."
"What'd you want?"
"I was uh...wondering if you would like to do something tonight- with me."
Nick looked shocked and surprised.
"Are you serious?" he questioned her.
"Uh yeah."
"Why?"
"Why? Because I thought it was time we stopped fighting Nick. It's really childish and I don't know, maybe it would be fun."
"Wow. You are serious."
Amanda just looked at him. "Sure, I guess we could do something."
"Great. How about a movie?"
"Yeah, sure. "
" We can see House On Haunted Hill, that's playing at 7."
"Ok, that's good. I guess I'll see you before 7."
"See ya." Amanda said walking back to her house."
Nick waited till Amanda went inside her house before closing the door and walking back inside. His date with Megan was canceled so why not go out with Amanda. It's not like he's cheating on Megan or something and he really wanted to stop all this fighting with Amanda. He was just wondering why Amanda would want to stop it.
" I can't believe I pulled it that off. Hopefully Megan doesn't call Nick for anything about their date or I'll be in big trouble."
Megan closed her front door and tossed her purse on the couch before laying on it herself. A date with Nick she thought. It couldn't get any better than that.
Nick's date, if you want to call it that, with Amanda wasn't for a couple of hours so he had time to kill so he called Brian to inform him on what's happening.
"Hello?" Brian's voice said.
"Hey it's me."
"Hey buddy. What's up?"
"You'll never guess what just happened."
"Amanda moved out?"
"No, she just asked me out."
"Whoa, are you serious?"
"Yeah. Her friend Megan was over this morning and I was talking to her. She got in a fight with Amanda over me I guess and stormed our of her house. I happened to be outside and I asked her out. She called me like 30 minutes later saying she couldn't come tonight because she promised her mom she'd go over there or whatever. Then like 20 minutes later Amanda came over and asked me out."
"Wow. So you have a date with Amanda?"
"Yeah, if you want to call it a date."
"I do."
"All right then."
Brian and Nick talked for about another hour before they hung up.
Over at Megan's she was picking out her clothes to wear. She wanted to look really good for Nick tonight.
It was 2 o'clock so Amanda had a little less than 5 hours till her date with Nick. She was actually getting excited for it. She had some time to kill so she went to the mall to pick up something to wear tonight. The mall was very crowded but she managed to find some clothes. She bought a pair of black flares with butterflies on the bottom and a red tank top with spaghetti straps. It showed off her great figure and she had a feeling Nick would like it too. By time she got back it was after 4 so she hopped in the shower and changed into her new outfit.
Next door at Nick's he was on the couch watching some TV when the doorbell rang. He thought it would be Amanda but to his surprise it was his friend Criss. He hasn't seen her since he left on his last tour. They were really good friends.
"Hey Nick!" she said with a warm greeting.
"Criss! It's so good to see you." He said embracing her in a hug.
He shut the door and escorted Criss in the house.
" Where have you been? I called your house when we got home but no one has been there for weeks!"
"I went to visit some family in Beverly Hills for awhile."
"Oh, did you just get back?"
"Yeah I came back last night so I decided to come pay you a visit."
"I'm glad you did! But I have a date in 3 hours with the girl next door."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah."
"What's she like?"
"Well, her name's Amanda and she just moved her from Denver about a month ago....." he continued on telling her everything that has happened.
"Wow. She sounds like a hand full!!"
"Yeah you could say that."
Criss stayed over till about 6 so Nick would have some time to get ready. As she was walking out the door she seen a girl sitting on her front porch next door. Amanda noticed her coming out of Nick's house but she didn't say anything.
"Are you Amanda?" Criss asked the girl.
"Yeah."
"I'm Criss, a friend of Nick's."
"HI."
"Nick told me he's going out with you tonight so have fun!"
"I will thanks."
Criss walked to her car and drove off. Criss seemed like a nice girl to Amanda. She just wondered if Criss ever dated Nick. Amanda walked back inside to finish getting ready before Nick came over and picked her up.
