Forest Medallion

As you exit the Temple of Time, you can see a definite change that seven years, or perhaps Ganondorf's evil, has made. It's dark, and an odd ring floats around Death Mountain. Head on out to Hyrule Market and it's even more startling. The buildings are completely torn apart and the Market is full of redeads. Run past them quickly to Hyrule Field. Now, Sheik had said to go to the Kakariko Villiage, but before you do that, go back to Lon Lon Ranch.

Go out to the pasture and you'll see Ingo. Talk to Ingo and you'll see that he has taken over. (If you went into the stables, you would also see Malon, all grown up.) He'll also ask you if you want to ride one of his fine horses. Say yes, pay the 10 rupees, and get in the pasture. It looks like there's a horse all ready for riding, but don't get on it. Play Epona's Song and Epona, also grown up will ride towards you. Climb on Epona and get some practice riding in the allowed amount of time. When you get on her back, you'll notice 6 little carrots that pop up on the screen. This makes Epona go faster. When she goes faster, she can hop over the gates. If you hop over the middle of the gates in the pasture, you get some rupees. When Ingo kicks you out, talk to him and ask to ride again. Then, before time runs out this time, talk to Ingo. He'll challenge you to a race for 50 rupees. Do it! You have to beat him around the corral, it's pretty easy. Then he'll challenge you to another race, and if you win, he'll give you Epona! This is a bit more difficult. Just remember to rationalize your carrots wisely. Once you get in front of Ingo, it'll be easier. But once you win, he says, "Sure, you can keep the horse", but he won't let you out of the Ranch. Won't let you out, my foot! Just back Epona up enough, give a few carrots, and jump over Ingo's fat butt! :) (You can also jump over the walls of the Ranch.) Now you can ride Epona around Hyrule Field, making travel much more easier and faster. The only bad thing is that you can't take her into towns. But don't worry, she'll be right where you left her. And if you get seperated from her, then just play Epona's Song and she'll come running. :) Now, go on to the Kakariko.

And wow, has the Kakariko changed too! Most of the people from Hyrule Market moved here, and so did the merchants and store keepers. You can restock on stuff if you need, but then go into the Windmill. The same little dude will be there, and now he's annoyed. Talk to him, and he'll tell you about how some kid messed up the windmill seven years ago... Hm.... Anyway, when he's done, pull out your Ocarina. He'll teach you the song that that kid played that messed up the windmill so much. This is the Song of Storms! When you play it, the windmill will go a lot faster, and if you talk to the little dude, again, he'll spaz out saying you played the Ocarina again. Hmmmm.. Anyway, go on out and talk to the Cucco Lady, that you gathered all the cuccos for when you were a kid. (Isn't it neat to see all the characters again?) She'll tell you about the new Pocket Cucco she's bred then offer you an egg. Accept it, then wait a day, when it hatches the next day, go see the carpenter's wife's house. (The house on ground level when you first enter.) Talon will be sleeping in one of the beds! Use the cucco to wake him up. He'll ask if you saved Malon and that he's going to go back now. Well, bring the cucco back to the Cucco Lady and she'll see that the cucco is happy because it woke up Talon. She'll give you a blue cucco named Cojiro! It belonged to her brother, but he's gone and now Cojiro doesn't crow. This starts you off on your adventure to get a Biggoron's Sword! For instructions, please refer to How to get the Biggoron Sword.

Anyway, now go onto the Graveyard. Go into Dampé's House, and you can read his journal. You'll find that Dampé had died, some time in the last seven years, and beckons you to come to his grave, so that he may give you something. That in itself is kinda creepy to me. I mean, did he write this before he died... or after? Anyway, find the grave with flowers in front of it, this is Dampé's grave. Pull it back and jump into the hole under it. In there is the ghost of Dampé. He'll challenge to a race through his oddly large tomb. Follow him, but watch out, because like most ghosts, he throws fire at you. And some door he goes through are timed, and you have to go through them before they close. But if you follow him, at the end, he'll give you a hookshot! Now go through the door in front of you. You'll come to some blocks, and Navi notices that they have the same design as that on the Door of Time. So pull out your Ocarina and play the Song of Time. The blocks will disappear and you can now go up some steps that leads to...the windmill? Ew! There's a passageway from a grave to the windmill! That's comforting! Anyway, look around and you should see a piece of heart. Pull out your Hookshot and aim and the platform the heart is on. It should pull you to it, giving you access to the piece of heart! Now that you got what you came for, Navi will soon be bothering you again, wondering what's going on with Saria; so why don't we give her a call? Play Saria's Song and talk to her. She'll tell you that she's in trouble and that she needs your help! Let's go on to the Sacred Forest Meadow to check things out.

When you get there, watch out for big meany dudes guarding the corridors. If they see you, they'll come charging. But all you need to get rid of them is poke them with your hookshot. Then, when you get to the stairs, you'll see a BIG meany dude with a club! He'll hit the ground with the club sending vibration waves flying and you. But don't worry, they're easy to avoid; you'll see on which side he's getting ready to hit. And then you get past him, just hit him with your sword three times and he's gone. When you get to where you and Saria used to hang out, you'll get all nostalgic. Then Sheik interupts you by flying down from no where. He'll talk a bit then show you the Minuet of Forest! Now when you play the Minuet, you'll be transported to the stone in front of the temple. Now aim your hookshot at the limb of the tree and you'll land on the platform, so go on forward. Who knew that this was the entrance to the Forest Temple?

When you walk towards the door to the Forest Temple, two wolfos will pop up. Eliminate them, then look to the right. There will be vines on the walls to climb up, so, do so, then walk out on a limb. >:) Point your hookshot to the treasure chest on the other tree and pull yourself to it. Open it up ad it'll be a key. Ladies and gentlemen! May I now present to you, one of the most annoying things in the game! The Key!! From now on, you have keys in the temples. That means if you come to a locked door, you have to find a key before you can go on. But don't worry too much, the keys usually aren't that hard to find. But now that you have a key, go on through the door. Before you go too far beyond the door, look up. There will be a skulltula, but all you have to do is shoot it with your hookshot. :) Nice and easy, huh? So, now go on through the next door. Now you're in a big room with four torches with a different colored flame. Then some Poes will appear and steal the flames! Go forward, up the stairs and through the door. In this hallway is a flying skull-looking thing with wings and on fire with a blue fire called a Blue Bubble. It'll come charging at you, when it does, hold up your shield. When it hits your shield, it's fire will go out and it'll fall hopping onto the floor. Hit it with your sword a few times and it'll die. Now go on through the next door. You'll be in a large circular room and the door will be barred behind you. Then two stalfos will pop up from the ground. Kill them like the wolfos and lizalfos. When they're gone, a chest will appear with a key in it. Now go back to the main room. Go to the corner to the right and there will be a block with the symbol of time on it. Play the Song of Time and the block will diasappear, revealing a door. Go on through it. Inside is a courtyard type thing. Look to the right and there will be some vines with some Skullwalltulas on it. Kill as many as the skullwalltulas as you can and climb up the vines, being cautious of the one you couldn't reach with your hookshot. Then go in the door on the top. Inside is a Blue Bubble. Kill him and a big chest will appear. Inside is the map! Now go out the next door and you'll be on a balcony. Kill the Deku Baba and look to the right and you'll see another balcony. Pull out your hookshot and point it at the target above the balcony. Let 'er rip and you'll end up on the balcony. Inside the wall is a switch; step on it and the wate in the well will lower. So jump down and go to the bottom of the well. It's a long corridor, but on the other side is a chest with a key in it! So climb up and go out the door to the main room. Now, go to the right and up the stairs. Unlock the door, and go on through it. Look up and there's another skulltula. Get rid of it and go through the next door. In this room, there's a Blue Bubble. Kill it then go up the ladders. Go around the corner, then to the left. There will be a really big block. Grab it and drag it so that it's lined up with hallway, then to go the right and push it from that side as far as it will go. Now, go to the hallway that the block was in and turn left. There's the block again, so push it until it falls into a little hole. Now you can climb up it. Climb up the block, then the wall, then turn to the right. There's another block. Pull it out as far as it will go, then go back down to the lower level, where the first block started out. Notice the ladder. Climb up it then go to the right. There's the block again. Push it as far as it will go, then go back to where you were, and push the block from the back, until it goes into the little hole, then climb up it. Then go right, up the ladder, then right again. There will be two Blue Bubbles. Kill them, then unlock the door and go through it. As Navi points out, this corridor is all twisted! Go on through, and when you get to the end, heed Navi's warning and watch out. If you stay still too long, a big hand will drop from the ceiling and pick you up and put you back at the beginning of the temple! But what you do is jump to the platform, then to the right. Unlock the door and go through it and in the next rooms is steps and pictures of a Poe on different floors. Ignore these right now, and get to the bottom and go through the door. In the next room, there will be a stalfo. When he's gone, a platform will come down and two more stalfos will pop up. Kill these guys quickly because if you take too long with the second one, then the first one will come back to life. When they're all gone, a big chest will appear. Inside this one is the Fairy Bow!! Yea!! Now you can shoot things with arrows! >:) Okay, now go into room you were in before with all the pictures. When there's a pic of a poe, shoot it with an arrow. When you get all the pics, the real Poe will appear, and go to the bottom floor. Fight her like a regular Poe. When she starts twirling at you, use your shield, when she is visible, shoot her with a arrow. Eventually, she'll die and the torch she was holding will break. The flame in the torch will go to the gold one by the door, thus lighting the torch on the main floor. Also, a treasure chest will appear with a key inside! Now go through the Stalfo room and it. Through the next door, it should be the same thing. So, do the same thing. LoL, duh. >:) The chest that appears with this Poe contains the compass! Now, this may be annoying, but go back to the room before the twisted corridor with the two blue bubbles. Look above the door to the twisted corridor and there will be a silver eye thing. Shoot it with an arrow and it will "untwist" the twisted corridor! So go through and jump to the ground and you'll see a pretty blue and yellow chest that was on the wall the first time. Open it and you'll get the Boss Key! This is the key that opens the door to the bosses lair. Now look around on the floor and there will be a hole in the floor. Fall through and there will be two Blue Bubbles. Kill them and it'll unbar a barred door, so go on through. Now you're back in the courtyard again! Go to the right, then turn right again. Go in the door and there will be a hand thing like those hands that fall down from the ceiling and grab, but he's the floor. Hit him with your sowrd a few times and he'll split into 3 smaller hands. Hurry up and kill these guys by hitting them with your sword once. Once this dude's all gone, a treasure chest with a key inside. Then go back out to the door you came in at. Now, go BACK to the room before the untwisted corridor, and twist it back. lol Go through there, and the Poe rooms and through you'll be in a place like the one with the hand ceiling thingies. Just jump down from your ledge and climb up the ladder to your right. This corridor is like the twisted, except it's not twisted and there are Green Bubbles. Green Bubbles are pretty much like Blue Bubbles, except their fire is green. Makes sense, huh? Anyway, go through the door at the end. In this room, there are four columns turning in a circle, with a stationary column in the middle with a single torch. Look to the left, and you'll see an eye thing, but it's covered with ice. You can do one of two things. First, you can get on one of the columns, have an arrow ready and when possible, shoot the arrow through the fire of the torch at the eye. Or you can get on the platform below the eye and use Din's Fire. Either way, it'll take the untwisted corridor you just came from and twist it. Go down the now twisted corridor, remembering the Green Bubbles, then drop to the ground, find a hole and fall through it. You'll land in a room with a checkered floor, but as you go forward, you'll see that the ceiling will fall. However, it does have some holes in it. You need to find those holes and run to them before the ceiling falls on you. But be careful. In some of those holes, Skulltulas will be hiding. Also, you need to hit the switch before you get o the other side. Once you get the switch, run through the door. In the next room, there is a large picture of a Poe shoot it and huge puzzle pieces will fall from the ceiling. You need to put them together to make a picture of a Poe. But you only have 1 minute to do it, and one of the pieces doesn't fit. If you don't get it together in time, the pieces will rise, flip, and fall again for you to put together. When you get them together, the pieces will sink, and the Poe will appear. Fight her, like her sisters. (Speaking of sisters, have you noticed something? These Poes are named, but what's funny is that they're named like the sisters in Little women. LoL, So far we've had Joelle, Beth, Amy.. >:) ) Go through the door, kill the skulltula, and go through the next door. Now you'll be in the main room. Look towards the middle of the room, and you'll see the three flames back, and something purple in the middle. Go check it out, and you'll see it's the fourth Poe, Meg. She'll split into four images and spin around you. You have to shoot them with arrows until you've found the real one. If you get the real one, they'll disappear. Walk around and they'll reappear. Hint- the real one will twirl right after it appears. After a few times of getting the real one, it'll die, the flame will take it's proper place and a little elevator thing will rise. Get inside and it'll take you down a level. In this room are some stone things. Push them and when they stop, look around. Some holes will be revealed. When you first get there, there's a blocked switch and the blocked entrance to the bosses lair. Push and there will be a swtich for you to step on. Push, then there's another switch. Push, and there's a skulltula blocking a treasure chest with arrows in it. In the same hole is a Golden Skulltula. Push again and it's the blocked switch from before. Step on it and it'll unblock the door to the Boss's lair. So, go, unlock the door, and enter.

You go up the stairs and you'll be in a small, circular room with identical pictures on the walls. Try to leave, and you'll find that you can't. A gate will pop up then the boss will reveal itself. It's Phantom Ganon, a ghost that looks like Ganondorf on his horse. He'll fly into a nearby picture then out of sight. What you do is get in the center of the room, have your arrow at ready, and spin around. Look carefully into the pictures, and if you see Phantom Ganon shoot it. But beware, there's also a fake one. The fake one will turn back before it runs out the picture. If you don't shoot the real Phantom Ganon, get away from the middle of the room! As he flies overhead, Phantom Ganon will electricute the middle of the room, then fly back into a picture. Well, get the real Phantom Ganon a few times and he'll start floating around you. Calm down and look at how scruny he is! He's a little dork! He's gonna shoot an electrical charge at you, don't worry, just hit it back at him with your sword, like a baseball. He may hit it back at you, just hit it back at him. Eventually, one of you will miss. If it's you, you get zapped, if it's him, he'll fall on the ground. Just start whacking away at him. Then he'll get up and do it again. After awhile, he'll die. Then you'll hear Ganondorf's voice saying how it'll be harder to beat the real him and how worthless Phantom Ganon is. Then Phantom Ganon will get sucked into the ground, and your blue light will emerge. Don't forget your heart!

You'll then get transported to the Chamber of Sages. This is where Saria will introduce herself as the Sage of Forest! :D Then she'll give you the Forest Medallion! Way ta go! Then you'll get transported to in front of the Deku Tree. Here, you'll notice a little sprout. Then it'll pop up! Link, the courageous hero that he is, starts screaming. :T Anyway, the sprout introduces himself as the Deku Tree Sprout, and thanks you for killing the monsters in the Forest Temple. Then, he'll tell you a story... It's about you! You're not a Kokiri! You're a Hylian! Does this answer some questions? How you could leave the forest? How you grew up?? Well, there ya go.

Now, if you go back to the Temple of Time, Sheik will be waiting for you there. He'll tell you that if you want to go back as a child, all you need to do is place the Master Sword back in the Pedastal of Time. Then you'll get all the weapons you had as a child back, but you can't use the weapons you found as an adult. Sheik will also teach you The Prelude of Light. When you play the song, you'll be transported to the Temple of Time. After Sheik teaches you the song, he'll disappear. And you're on your way to getting the Fire Medallion!
