"Sarah, are you alright?" he asked, hoping for a positive answer.
"Uh, Nick? Um, I didn't notice you were there," I said, rubbing my eyes, trying to hide my sadness from Nick.
"What happened?" Nick asked.
"I - I knew everything. I knew why I was here in the first place. So, you suspect me taking the drugs, huh?" I said coldly.
Nick could not believe his ears and eyes. Is it really Sarah who was laying hopelessly on the bed? Am I having some kind of hallucination?
"Great! Now you must think I'm some kinda slut, right? Go ahead if you wanna dump me," I muttered.
"It's - it's not like that! I mean, I love you! I'd never believe you'd do something so horrible," Nick explained.
I didn't know what to reply. It was true that Nick had been so warm, so loving and caring to me. I should not just said he was suspecting me with no strong reason.
"I - I'm sorry. It's just things hadn't work -" I stopped talking and broke down to a soft cry.
Nick bent over and gave me a hug, a warm hug to help me get calmed. I didn't hesitate as I was really needy for somebody at my side, especially in this kind of hard times.
"Everything's gonna be alright," he assured, still hugging me. He kept chanting the same sentence over and over while hugging me in a tight grip.
As I was trying to get my hands loosed from Nick's grop, both of us caught each other's eyes. Silence around us as we started into each other's eyes. You know, just like in the movies! Nick slowly leaned forward to give me a passionate kiss -
"Hey!" a voice interrupted.
It was Brian. Nick let me go.
"Am I interrupting a special moment?" Brian asked, grinning.
"No," I lied. "C'mon in!"
As Brian sat down, his eyes wildly looked around him.
"Expecting somebody?" I asked him.
"Nope!" he uttered a short answer.
"Maybe you should get off the bed. You know, have some fresh air," Nick suggested.
"Maybe.. tomorrow," I told him.
I realized that my room was actually a first-class room. There was a huge television and a radio in it. I had been so upset before that I didn't notice they were here.
I clicked on the radio.
"I never wanna hear you say... I want it that way.." The radio played, filling the air with amusing music. Nick got really red in the face.
My mind flashed back at my first encounter, at my first gaze ever at Nick. I remembered 'I Want It That Way' was the first Backstreet Boys song I heard on our first met.
"Nick, do you remember? This was the first song we hear on the radio on our first met. Remember?" I asked him.
Nick nodded. "I remembered every second of it. Maybe it was fate," Nick exclaimed.
I blushed. "Um, maybe."
"Ahem, um, I'd better uh, leave now. See ya!" he cried and went out of the room.
I shook my head. He did not get over it yet, I thought. Bri, Bri.
I caught something on Brian when he departed the room. He was smiling. But why did it looked like an evil grin on his face?
"Sarah? Sarah?" Nick spatted.
"Uh, um, yeah?" I suddenly snapped back into reality.
"Do you want any of your pals to come over. I mean, I could call 'em," Nick offered.
"Yeah, right. And who's gonna pay the bill from UK to Germany? Their parents?" I asked sarcastically.
"BSB management in UK are. Don't worry," Nick assured.
I cheered up. My friends would love to see me again after I departed them in UK.
I wrote down the phone numbers of Alexandra, Claudia, Vicky, Nicol and Timay on a scrap of paper and handed it to Nick. He gave me a quick kiss on my cheek and went off to call my friends and the BSB management in England.
I yawned. I was so tired. I need a nap, I need a nap, I said to myself. The scene went black as I drifted into sleep...
I woke up when I heard somebody pushed my room's door. I opened my eyes and rubbed them. I caught a glimpse of my mom. They were my family. I was glad to see them again.
"Mom! Dad! Judy! Tim!" I cried.
They all went straight for me, except for Tim. He's not the emotional type, you know - "tough" boys. I hugged my mom, my dad and Judy. I missed them so much.
"How did you get here?" I asked.
"Well, Nick called us and told us about the incident. It's such a wonderful news to hear you're cured!" mom cried.
So, that day, we talked and talked and talked about my journey to Germany.
My mom told me that my family would get back to USA tomorrow. I was upset because I didn't want them to leave so soon. But my dad had an important job to do. We talked again until I get exhausted and slept.
I woke up as I heard birds chirping. I opened my eyes. The bright sunshine hurt my eyes. Nick was standing in front of me.
"Good morning!" he greeted me.
"Hi," I uttered weakly.
He went next to my bed and sat down on a chair nearby.
"Your first friend had arrived," Nick told me.
The door opened and Timay went in.
"Hi Timay! How ya doin' pal?" I asked.
She lurched towards me and we made our hand signs, like the old days. You know, the hand signs that The Moffatts always do!
Timay was my bestest bud of all my best bud back in England. She and I were HUGE England football supporters. Both of us always tried to find the latest news in the football arena.
"I'm doing fine," she told me.
"I leave you two alone," Nick butted in.
"C'ya later Nick," I told him.
He leaned over and gave me a quick kiss. Then, he left the room, leaving me alone with Timay.
"So, how's life?" I asked Timay.
"Great! It's just a li'l bit different without ya," Timay told me.
Suddenly, somebody knocked the door. I told the person to come in. It was Dr. Owen.
"Hi. Feeling better?" he asked.
"Yeah," I answered honestly.
He checked my health and stuff. Then, he gave me some medicine and pills to take for recovery. Then, he went out.
We chatted a few while. I was getting a better recovery, and I was really glad. Timay told me that he had a crush on her new neighbour, Don. As usual, he must be a brown-haired guy. She always had a thing for cute brown-haired guys.
I told her to tell every single friends I have in England that I said 'hello' to them. She assured me that she would and left the room after doing our hand signs.
There was another knock a few seconds later.
I sighed. Another visitor?
"Hi," Clint Moffatt popped his head around.
"Oh, it's you. Come in," I invited.
He opened the door widely and I saw that he bring along his brothers - Scott, Dave and Bob. I was shocked to see them.
They went in.
"How's life?" Clint asked me.
"Sucks. I have to stay in this place. I really hate hospitals!" I exclaimed.
Clint giggled. "Guys, this is Sarah. Sarah these are -" Clint started to say.
"I didn't need intro. I am a fan of you guys! Hi Scott, hi Dave, hi Bob," I interrupted.
Clint smiled. His brothers muttered 'hi' at me.
Clint started to say something but someone interrupted his words by pushing my door. There stood my friends, Claudia, Vicky, Alexandra and Nicol. They gasped as they saw the Moffatts brothers were in my room.
"Hi guys! Come in!" I cried, happy to see my best friends were there.
They came in slowly.
"Clint, Dave, Scott, Bob - this is Alexandra, Vicky, Claudia and Nicol," I introduced them to each other.
"Hi," the Moffatts brothers greeted.
My friends went into a strop and started talking with their favorite Moffatt brother - Claudia and Vicky were talking to Scott and Bob, Alexandra was talking to Clint and Nicol was talking to Dave.
Great, I said to myself. I was sick here and they were busy flirting. Duh!
