Deep down inside, he did not know that Claudia was feeling the same way too. But one different fact was Claudia is the one who hopes that Scott will ask her out, not SHE asking Scott out. I guess it's just the way things work, Claudia told herself.
"Let's stop gossiping! I want something interesting, something that would break the ice around us all," Vicky said, clapping her hands together.
"How about Truth or Dare?" Nicol suggested.
"I'll pass," said Scott. "I hate games like this!"
"Aww... shuck! C'mon bro! It'll be fun!" Dave said in a babyish voice.
"Al - Alright!" Scott finally gave up.
"But first... we must invite the Backstreet Boys! More spilling, more fun!" Alexandra exclaimed and rush off to find the Backstreet Boys.
"Okay, who wants to go first?" Nick asked.
"Let it be Nicol, the suggester," Claudia snapped nastily.
Nicol acted casually but she shrugged anyway. "Okay, truth. Gimme your best shot."
"Lemme think, um..." Alexandra said, rubbing her chin while thinking deeply. "Okay, among all guys you've kissed, who was the worst kisser?"
"Eh, that'll be... Richard Abner. You know, that footballer in out school. He kiss like a goldfish! Ugh!" Nicol said, choking her own neck.
Brian smiled, thinking about his conversation with Sarah about BJ's kissing skills. How many goldfish kissers are there in the world?
Nicol looked at the others. "Lemme see... I choose.... Scott," Nicol said.
"Truth," Scott said hastily.
"Okay... um, do you have a non-celeb crush?" Nicol asked.
Oh, damn! Why did questions like this came out at the wrong time and the wrong place? Scott started to blush.
"I'll - I'll pick Dare, then," Scott said.
"Tettttt!!!" Brian buzzed. "You can't!!"
"Why?" Scott said, worried.
"'Cause that's the way it is!" Timay cried.
"Uh - uh, her name ends with an 'A'," he started to say.
"Hey we don't want guessing games! Spill!" Howie urged.
"Okay, okay," Scott said hastily.
Lord, just give me strength. Don't make me blush in front of Claudia, Scott prayed.
"Uh - uh, Claudia," Scott said shyly.
Every mouth in the group went wide opened. Claudia blushed. Scott stared at the floor while Vicky felt like slapping herself.
This is my chance, Scott told himself. "So, would you go out with me tomorrow?" Scott asked Claudia.
"Okay... sounds fine," Claudia said, trying to hide her excitement and embarrassment from Scott, who was hoping for a positive answer.
Vicky totally lost it. I should've not suggested something that would break the ice around us. It breaks - too much!
"Can we move on?" Vicky suggested.
"Okay, okay. Scott your turn," Timay said.
"Vicky. Truth or Dare?" Scott asked.
"Dare."
"What's up with her?" Scott asked his future-date, Claudia.
"A date with Brad, I guess," Claudia explained, rolling her eyes.
"I pick you - AJ," Nick said pointing at AJ.
"Truth."
There was a knock on the door. Timay remained silent.
Ohmigod! Ohmigod! He's here! Timay took a last check at her appearance. She was wearing a very sexy black dress. She combed her hair for the last time and looked into the mirror. I looked fine, she told herself.
There was another knock.
"Hi," she said as she opened the door.
"Hi, this is for you," Brad said, handing Timay a bouquet of red roses.
"Aw, how thoughtful," Timay said.
Brad gave her a kiss on her cheek. "You look beautiful."
Timay blushed. "Gee, thanks."
Sarah clicked on the TV. Channel 5 was showing an MTV show so she stayed tuned to it. The host, Rebecca Royal, said there was a battle between Backstreet Boys and Westlife a week ago.
"And the winner is - the Backstreet Boys!" she announced. "So here the back to back videos by BSB, from Larger Than Life to We've Got It Goin' On!"
So, they played the song.
I had watched the video many times but I had never get bored with it. When the next videoclip, I Want It That Way, was played on, I got out from the room and went to the nearest public phone. I dialed the Germany's MTV hotline.
"Hello, MTV I Like. Who's speaking?" I heard Rebecca's voice.
"This is Sarah," I told her.
"Louder please. You're on the air," Rebecca told me.
"This is Sarah Lundin," I told her with a louder voice.
"Oh, hi Sarah. What's your favorite band?" Rebecca asked me.
"BACKSTREET BOYS!!" I cried out loud, which made some people around me stare at me as if I was a maniac from an insane asylum, but I ignored them.
"Who's your favorite?" was her next question.
"Nick Carter."
"Me too! Now, what do you like best about him?" she asked.
"His sweetness and his personality," I answered.
"Have you ever met him?" she asked.
I smiled. "Yeah, loadsa times!" I told her.
"Lucky you! As you made it through the air, you're going to receive a backstage pass to see them. Isn't that wonderful? You got to meet them again!" she cried.
I was about to tell her that I didn't need a pass to go backstage but I acted cool, as if I was like the other BSB fans that existed in the world.
"Yeah, cool!" I said.
