"Could somebody tune it to other station?" Timay complained.
I smiled. Timay really despised K-ci and Jojo's 'All My Life'. What she really hated was the part "baby, baby, baby...." You know, the starting part! I tuned to another station which was playing 'Misery' by The Moffatts.
Timay and I had woke up early that morning to watch a football show. The others were still sleeping in their beauty sleep.
After watching the show, the other were still sleeping and we didn't want to get into trouble by waking them up - especially Nick and Kevin who were usually grumpy in the morning. So we decided to just sat down in my hotel room and have a little chit-chat while the radio was on.
"So, how's school right now? What happened to our Man United footie team?" I asked her.
"Well, we've won all games so far but wait until they meet Liverpool High football team!" Timay said.
"Liverpool? Why?" I asked her again.
"Well, they're quite some team. Do you mind, I was born there!" Timay exclaimed. "And I think… the captain was - well, sort of cute."
"Artie Johnson? I don't think so!" I told Timay.
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. I don't mind."
The phone rang. I rushed to pick it up.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hi, Sarah? Officer Brennan here," he introduced himself.
"Oh, hi. What's wrong?"
"It's about the drugs. We've got something. Whoever puts the drugs is very careful. No hand print was left. It looked like he planned it very well. Have you got yourself into quarrels lately?" he asked.
I thought for a while. "I dunno. I don't think so."
"Well, alright. Look, if you want this case to be closed… you can just tell us," he suggested.
"Yes, I do. It's driving me crazy. Just put it to close," I sighed.
"Alright."
"Thanks," I said.
Without a 'you're welcome' reply, I put down the receiver back to its cradle. I was too lazy to hear the tacky officer blabs out so much.
"Who was that?" Timay asked.
"Wrong number," I lied to make the 'caller' conversation short. "You know what I missed the Internet so much!" I blabbed.
Timay looked at me and smiled. "Then how about going to the cyber café downstairs?" Timay suggested.
I couldn't believe my ears. There was a cyber café downstairs and I didn't even notice it! Then I remembered. Oh, of course! I didn't have the chance after all the drugs situation.
Who put it in my drink? I need to know whoever he - or she is. What the person did was so disgusting and mean. Maybe it was Amanda. She sounded like she doesn't like me when I refused to leave the room when she was with AJ.
"Earth to Sarah! Earth to Sarah! Are you okay? Do you need some sort of doctor or something?" Timay said sarcastically.
"No, thanks. Let's just go," I told Timay.
Wait! I suddenly remember - where IS Amanda? I didn't see her since I went into the hospital. I threw the pits thinking and made my way to the door, with Timay at my back.
When I opened the door to leave, I saw Brian who looked like he just had a bath. He was snoopily walking out of his room. I greeted him which made him a bit startled.
"Hi," he said, trembling.
"You're shaking," Timay commented.
"Uh - uh - the water is uh, freezing!" Brian lied. "Brrr!" he said while holding his hands in cross.
I rolled my eyes. What a lame excuse he made. I think he just didn't want Nick to know what he's up to. I didn't say it out loud though, I didn't want him to get hurt.
"Um, we're going to leave. Hope you'll get better from that freezy situation," I teased him.
Brian didn't notice I was teasing him and said, "I hope too."
I didn't made any other word with him and went dowstairs with Timay to the cyber café.
As I sat on the chair, I touched the mouse. Hey, rat! I missed you so much, I thought. Timay was playing on her own, contacting Hotmail to check her e-mail.
I was on my own too. I contacted Backstreet.Net for its chatroom, Caitlin's BackChat. It's one of my favorite chat hangout.
When I got there, I saw 'MoN|qU3''s name was on the chatters list. I clicked on her name to IM her:-
** And there was a note saying 'MoN|qU3 had left the Chatroom' on the chatroom main board. There was a lot of people in there who I didn't know and I wasn't in the chat mood.
So, I contacted Hotmail to check my e-mails. I had left the Internet for a few days and there was about 110 e-mails remained unread.
I deleted all the chain letter first. I didn't want to waste my time reading all those fluffy silly things.
When I was finished after 4 and a half hours on the Internet, I paid for the charges - so did Timay.
"Wow, that sure cost a lot!" she said.
"But it was worth it!" I said casually.
When the lift was opened, I saw Brian stepped out of it.
"Hey Brian!" I said out loud.
He turned round to see who was calling him and saw me. He waved and I waved back. He went over to tell me that he was going for his breakfast.
I stepped into Nick's room.
"Where's Bri?" Nick asked.
"He's taking his breakfast," I told him.
"Without me?" Nick asked, looking upset.
"Yeah."
"Uh, that's okay. I'll just go down and buy something. Do you want anything?" he asked.
"No, thanks," I told him.
I was left alone when he left the room. I looked around. Clothes, CDs and magazines were all over the floor. I shook my head but I didn't clean up the mess. It was too complicated to be cleaned. The maids will be in a big trouble to clean this up, I told myself.
Hey, what's this? I asked myself when I saw a thick leather book on the table. I bent over and took it. It was written 'BRIAN'S.'
I opened it. It was a diary. I knew a diary was a privacy but I just got interested with what had Brian been thinking all along.
I opened the first page I flipped to.
Date: February 20, 1999
Dear diary,
I'll never celebrate my b-day with Coke again! Sarah got in a serious situation for that!
