Oct. 1998-: Ph. D student at the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) in the research group of Prof. R.Neier
1994-1997:  Diplôme d’Ingénieur Chimiste de Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Mulhouse (ENSCMu, French ‘Grande Ecole’ in Chemistry), majoring in medicinal and bioorganic chemistry.
Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA), (MSc.equivalent) of the University of Haute-Alsace (UHA, France) in Organic and Macromolecular Synthesis, with honors. 
The practical work of these two Diploma were done in the Research group of Dr. M. Lang (Medicinal chemistry, Oncology, Novartis pharma Basel, Switzerland) and under the academic supervision of Pr. C. LeDrian. 
Licence de Chimie Physique (BSc.equivalent) of the University of Haute-Alsace. 
1991-94: Classes Préparatoires, math sup.-math spé. at Lycée A.Schweitzer of Mulhouse: 
3 years intensive course for entrance into a French "Grande Ecole".
1991: Baccalauréat C (eq. "A" levels) with honors at lycée J.Mermoz (Saint-Louis, France (068)) majoring in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
English: Good level.
German: Fluent, (9 months placement in Basel, Switzerland). I speak also the alsacien dialect.

Placements and technical skills

 
Oct. 1998-: Ph. D., Assistant of the University of Neuchâtel  in the research group of Pr. R. Neier. Studies and applications of novel tandem reactions Diels-Alder /[3 :3] sigmatropic rearrangement. Application to the total synthesis of natural products as juvabione and the ibogamine Skeleton. 
Supervision of laboratory of inorganic chemistry for the 1st year students in chemistry and pharmacy. 
Exercise sessions for the 3rd year students in advanced organic chemistry. 
Responsible for research project of 4th year students (advanced laboratory). 
Responsible for a diploma (MSc. eq.) student. 
Training of a 3 rd year laborant.
1997-1998: Military service as Scientifique du contingent at the l’Institut de Chimie des Surface et Interface (ICSI) of Mulhouse (France). 
Studies of the reduction of thionyle chloride in a porous environment to optimize a SOCl2/Li battery. Study of the influence of Teflon on the proprieties of the carbon electrodes. Work done in collaboration with the DGA, Alcatel, SAFT et and the CNRS. 
Aug-sep. 1997: NOVARTIS, Pharmaceutical Research, Basel. 2 months in the research group of Dr. G. Caravatti . 
Synthesis of peptidic inhibitors of the SH2 domain of the Grb2 protein. Peptidic synthesis in solution.
Feb.-jul. 1997: 
 

 

NOVARTIS, Pharmaceutical Research, Basel. 7 months DEA placement in the research group of Dr. M.Lang, under the guidance of Dr. G. Caravatti. 
Synthesis of non-peptidic inhibitors of the SH2 domain of the Grb2 protein. Organic synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, Suzuki coupling reaction. 
Classical analytic techniques were used (RMN, MS, IR, UV, HPLC, MPLC, GC, CHN...).
1996: HOFFMANN La ROCHE, Total Quality Management (TQM), Village-Neuf (France). 1,5 months in the analytical laboratory responsible for the treatment of wastewater. Analysis of the water and mire by the following methods DBO, MES, DCO, TOC, Dosages and checking the good yield of the purification station. Studies of the biodegradability of new organic products freshly used in new productions.
