The song was written by Catholics in England.
Each phase has a different meaning!!
They are as follows:
The "true love" refers to God.
The "me" refers to each believer.
The Partridge in a pear tree is Jesus Christ on the cross.
The 2 turtle doves are the Old and New Testaments
The 3 French hens are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
The 4 calling birds are the 4 gospels
The 5 gold rings are the first 5 books of the Bible (Books of Moses)
The 6 Geese A-Laying are the 6 days of creation
The 7 Swans A-Swimming are the 7 gifts of the spirit
The 8 Maids A-Milking are the 8 beatitudes
The 9 Ladies Dancing are the 9 fruits of the spirit
The 10 Lord A-Leaping are the 10 Commandments
The 11 Pipers Piping are the 11 apostles, excluding Judas
The 12 Drummers Drumming are the 12 points in the Apostle's Creed
If you add-up all the gifts + Christmas Day you get 365!!
The numbers of days in a year!!
So every day is a gift from God!!!

~WHY JESUS IS BETTER THAN SANTA CLAUS~
Santa lives at the North Pole.
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh.
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year.
JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies.
JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited.
JESUS stands at your door and knocks,
and then enters your heart when invited.
You have to wait in line to see Santa.
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap for a little while.
JESUS lets you rest in His arms as much as you like.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?"
JESUS knew your name before you did.
Not only does He know your name He knows our address too.
He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly.
JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO.
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says, "You better not cry."
JESUS says, "Cast all your cares on me, for I care for you."
Santa's little helpers make toys.
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hears,
reparis broken homes and lives and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but,
JESUS give you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree,
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.
It's obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in CHRISTmas.
JESUS IS STILL THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.
Yes, JESUS is better!!
HE is even better than Santa Claus!!!
HE saves us!!!!

~The Legend of the Candy Cane~
"A candy maker wanted to invent a candy that would incorporate several symbols
for the birth, ministry and death of Jesus Christ.
He began with a pure white stick of hard candy --
white to symbolize the virgin birth
and the sinless nature of Jesus,
and hard to symbolize the solid rock,
the foundation of the church and the firmness of God's promises.
He molded the candy in the form of a "J"
to represent the name of Jesus.
It could also represent the staff of the Good Shepherd.
Thinking the candy looked somewhat plain,
the candy maker added red stripes.
He used three small stripes to represent the stripes
Jesus received at the hands of the soldiers.
The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ
on the cross so we could have eternal life.
The peppermint flavor of the candy cane is similar to hyssop,
which is in the mint family and was used in Old Testament times
for purification and sacrifice.
Jesus is the pure Lamb of God
who came to be a sacrifice for the sins of the world."
