Burlington NC, 05.21.06. Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride was carried from the ring at the Carolina Sports Arena after being attacked with a steel chair during a blackout by the bizarre Soloman Spades. Spades then drug Boogie's challenger Michael McAllister to the champ and draped his arm over the man he'd assaulted. When the referee recovered his senses, he made the three count, making McAllister the new TV Champ.
However, McBride was unresponsive to worried wrestlers who came to the ring and was eventually removed from the ring and carried to a waiting car and transported to Alamance Hospital. No word on when McBride will be able to return to the ring or the exact nature of his injuries, which have been rumored to include a massive concussion. When official word is released, Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride's condition will be updated here.

Rob "the Bull" McBride has wrestled all across the Mid Atlantic for years, a beloved fan-favorite and sometimes a hated heel. McBride's personal admiration for the "original Boogie" Jimmy Valiant, has been documented for years. The two became close over the years, with McBride having the honor of having his photos displayed permanently at Boogie's Camp in Charlottesville VA.
On March 29th of 2003, Valiant gave McBride the Charlie Brown name, along with the mask that he made famous as a way of thanking him for everything he's done to promote the sport of pro wrestling over the years.
McBride himself promoted RCW's BoogieJam '04 at Greensboro NC's Riders In The Country on October 17, 2004, putting himself, Valiant and Fair Warning's singer Brian Hall in the ring against UNOD's Drake Tungsten & Hugh B. "Bad News" Johnson and Cody Gunn, along with their manager Brad Stutts in the main event.
"Team Boogie" won by pinfall and UNOD's Drake Tungsten had his head shaved bald before a rabid crowd chanting "Bald Headed Geek!" in Valiant's final match in Greensboro NC before his retirement.
In the dressing room following their match Valiant approached McBride and told him that he couldn't think of the Mid Atlantic area without a "Boogie Woogie Man" and asked him to take over and carry the name when he retired. In a moment of clarity, McBride tearfully accepted the honor, and realized the path that he shall walk...
