Investigator Harold Boyd said the blaze started on the first floor of the two-story house at 170 Hillside Ave. early Tuesday. About 75 percent of the house was destroyed, Boyd said.
Inside the home, investigators found trash and refuse that indicated someone had been living in the house. Boyd said it appeared the owners of the home had attempted to board up at least one entrance and had padlocked another, but to no avail.
No charges have been filed in connection with the fire. Boyd said he will continue to investigate whether or not the fire was intentionally set.
