Sadly, children ranging from infants to teenagers were victims of the holocaust also. Of the millions that died, 1.5 million were children. The fact that the Nazis would kill innocent children was apalling. Children often died in the camps because of the lack of proper food, or being too weak to work would be gassed. Babies often had to drink water or coffee because there was no milk in the camp. Children received no kind of special treatment because of their age, they were still ruthlessly killed. Hope for children in the camps was slim, and many saw mothers, fathers, and siblings die beside them. The survivors were considered heros and many today still talk about their tale.
