STATION 12

Engine 12 organized in 1988 at Station 4. Ladder 12 organzied in 1976 at Station 3. In 1989 Station 12 opened in south Durham.

Station 12 is staffed with Engine Co. 12 and Ladder Co. 12. There are 6 firefighters and two officers assigned daily at Station 12. Station 12 covers a mix of residential to heavy commercial.
Station 12 covers part of Research Triangle Park that includes numerous research facilities including federal government agencies, agriculture companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, aircraft engine plants and many more.
Station Twelve is the fastest growing district in the city and is considered to be one of the most densely populated. Station Twelve is first due to numerous apartment complexes. Station Twelve also covers parts of Interstate 40.
Station 12's call volume has increased greatly in the last 5 years. With the mass development going on in south Durham this trend will continue.
