Station 7 opened in 1969 in North Durham. There are 3 firefighters and 1 officer on shift daily at Station 7. Station 7s first due area consist of residential homes, many commercial structures and numerous apartment complexes. Durham Regional Hospital as well as many nursing homes are covered by Engine 7. With a hugh growth of population in north Durham in the last 15 years has made Engine 7 one of the busiest units in the fire dept. Station 7 is home to the Tactical Rescue Team a specialized rescue company.
