Chapter Two -- Double Take
MEETING ROOM
"I heard we have a new assistant manager, isn't it Ryan?" Howie asked.
"Yes."
Stevenson, Lori and Ethen enter the room.
"Boys," Stevenson said. "This is Miss Lori Bryant, your new assistant manager and her brother Ethen Bryant, who will be working in the tech crew."
"Nice to meet you guys." Lori and Ethen said as they shake hands with the Backstreet Boys. Then all of them sit down.
"So Lori, what did you do before this job?" Nick asked.
"Oh... this is my first job. I just graduated with my Ph.D degree." Lori answered confidently. Ethen then winked at her, indicating that she gave a good answer.
"I see... you'll have fun with us." Nick said.
2 WEEKS LATER
They had been working there for 2 weeks. Currently, they're on tour with the Backstreet Boys, thus they're in Kentucky right now. Lori is working so hardm she didn't realize Ethen and the Boys entering the room.
"Hey Lori, wanna go lunch together?" Nick asked.
"Oh... hi you guys... sure, why don't you guys go first, I'll be there in a minute." Lori replied.
"I guess I'll wait for my sis then, see you guys later." Ethen said. The Boys exit the room.
"I'll be done real quick Ethen..." Lori said, but her eyes never leave the schedules paperwork in front of her.
"Lori... you're really into this, aren't you?" Ethen asked.
"What are you talking about... it's my job..." Lori said.
"You know what... you should quit FBI and BE a manager..." Ethen said.
"Alright Ethen, I know you're hungry, let's go meet up with the guys."
CAFE RUNAS
"Hi... are you guys ready to order?" The waiter asked.
"Oh... a few minutes please, we're waiting for someone." Brian answered.
"No problem sir." The waiter walks away.
"Lori is hard working..." Kevin said.
"I think she picks up stuff pretty quick. I mean everything is on track right now, look, Ryan sure gets a lot more free time for himself..." Nick laughs.
"They're coming." Howie said as he waves to Ethen and Lori, who are entering the cafe.
"Hi guys, sorry for waiting." Lori said as she sits down.
"That's okay... we've got a good assistant manager. I mean... you can work so concentrately on those messy schedules and keeping in touch with the other agents and all that stuff..." Howie said.
"Oh... talking about schedules, I'm done organizing next month's schedule, you guys wanna take a look later?" Lori said.
"That fast? I mean you just got them like three days ago!" Nick said.
"Almost everything is confirmed, like the award shows, only need to organize the other stuff a bit... besides, I think it's better for you guys to have an idea what exactly you guys will be doing, rite?" Lori smiles.
LORI'S HOTEL ROOM
Lori picks up her cell phone and calls Mulder.
"Mulder speaking." He answered.
"Mulder? This is Fraser, is this a secure line?"
"Yes... How's everything?"
"So far, I couldn't get any evidence from Ryan Johnson. We're currently on tour with the Backstreet Boys." Lori answered.
"Anything suspicious?" Mulder asked.
"Well, all I know is that he's taking some kind of medication, but I'm not sure what..."
"Fraser, try to get an example of that..."
"I know what to do sir." Lori hangs up and goes to bed, she's really tired after one whole day of work.
