Chapter Five -- Sudden Changes
"hey Lori, there's a meeting today, and I'm just dropping by to help you. You saw the newspaper today rite? I guess we have to make special arrangements for you to get out of here from all the reporters down there and we gotta transfer you to another hotel or somewhere else."
"okay... sounds like a lot of work.. anyways, I'm ready to go now." I smiled.
"okay... come with me... wait... hold on a sec." He took his hand out and shaked my dad's and my mom's. "Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Ho."
We went out from the back door of the hotel, before we could reach the van, we saw reporters running after us, we got on the van as fast as possible, closed the door and departed.
"Oh my god! What was that?" I said.
"It is the life you get being a star... gotta get use to it!" Nick winked.
I sat there in the van, realizing that my life could change so dramatically just because a song that I wrote and performed.
~ Jive Records building, meeting room -- 11:00 am ~
"Hi Loretta!" the other boys said.
"Good morning everyone."
"She's a bit surprised about the reporters at the hotel just now." Nick said.
"Let me introduce you to your manager, Jonathan Matthews." Kevin introduced Jonathan to me.
"Hi Jonathan!"
"Hi Loretta... well, sorry to tell you, but we gotta starting working right now."
"Now?"
"Yes... first we gotta get ur outlook done, it's kinda like a symbol you know, very important. Tomorrow we'll meet with producers, song writers to work on your first album. Friday, a photo shoot for a local magazine and start touring with BSB next monday."
"Wait... touring?"
"Yes Lori." Nick said. "Gotta go with the trend before the fans forget about you, we will start another leg of our US tour next monday, we decided to add you to our opening act."
"You'll get used to it later, don't worry Loretta." Kevin said.
"guys, we really gotta figure out a place for Lori to stay in." Howie mentioned.
"Hey, how about the condo?" AJ suggested.
"Oh yeah!" Brian said. "Loretta, we have a condo here in Orlando, really close to hear too. There are a total of 2 units and 1 is available now. Sometimes when we work late, we stay in the one we have. I guess it will be a good idea for you to stay there. Because most of the time, at least one or two of us will be there, so in case u need anything, you just need to go next door."
"Okay... sounds great.. thanks guys!" I said.
"Loretta? We gotta go now... sorry guys!" Jonathan interrupted.
I picked up my bag, before I left, I told the guys: "Hey... but remember to deduct the rent from my pay, okay? see ya!" I smiled.
Once I left, first I got my hair done, then I'm scheduled with interviews with three of the local newspaper. All kinds of questions were asked. I was suggested to come out as a new artist c named LORI. I agreed since it is the way I like my name to be called. Then, I went back to the hotel after all the work. It was almost midnight.
~ Next morning -- 4:30 am ~
The phone rang.
"Hello?" I picked it up. I looked at the clock, thinking who the heck it would be calling me so early in the morning, after only like 4 hours of sleep.
< Loretta, this is Jonathan, time to get up! >
"What? Now?"
< Yes Loretta. We have another interview today... then meeting with Max Martin, and take a look at your condo this afternoon. >
"Okay... I'll be ready in 30 minutes."
