"I Just Want You To Know"

I want you to know




If these emotions that I am feeling
were tossed up into the sky
There would be stars of all colors
and each one of them would cry
For the lost and for all the suffering
for the brave and for the true
And a gold star would be shining
for the one and only you





You see, I do not know
in this time of trepidation
If you will be the next victim
of this attack upon our Nation
Or will it be me or mine
as we strive to live each day
With as little fear as possible
in our work and in our play





We must use care and caution
as we fight to remain free
Call the Spirits of protection
so the dangers we can see
Make each day a day of purpose
love one another even more
Sing a song of prayer for safety
for our soldiers of this war





Life is so precarious
when we are at our very best
Even our blessed Mother Earth
has put us to the test
But these days are different
when Evil called it's name
And because of this atrocity
we will never be the same





We can be better, for
in suffering there is true beauty
And as stong individuals
we will continue in our duty
To Creator, to family, and to Country
in freedom we will walk
But I need for you to know
to listen to the Spirits talk




I am blessed for knowing you
I am grateful you are my friend
I am praying with you
that the terror will find an end
But if you should be called
I will sing your death song
Until you join the heavens
where good people do belong





And if I should ever hear
the final battle cry
I'll take my place among the stars
on this good day to die
I will carry with me the love
you have so graciously given me
Until the day we meet again
as our Spirits are flying free
