When Brianna returned home she finally took the time to think about John and Nick and everything else. She came to the conclusion that what ever used to be there with John was definitely not there now. He had a tendency to be mean and controlling to her and he refused to understand her friendship with Nick. She knew any man in her life was going to have to not only deal with their friendship, but actually like it.
Her friendship with Nick was another thing. That kiss had completely threw her for a loop, and she thought it pretty much did the same to Nick. Things were fine between them in the morning, but it had definitely opened up a door that either of them had previously refused to acknowledge even existed. Only time would be able to work out exactly what course their friendship was going to take.
Right now her time had to be focused on school while Nick’s was focused on the tour. She ended things with John and surprisingly he didn’t make a big deal about it. He actually seemed relieved. Even during the break between the first and second leg of the tour Nick and Brianna’s schedules were so completely different that they were unable to get to see each other. They did however, talk and email on a regular basis.
Summer session was in full swing and Brianna had taken on a full load of classes. That kept her busy during the day in class and studying. Most nights, however, she found herself going out with the girls to different clubs or parties. There was always one going on somewhere in Gainesville. She didn’t think much about it because her classes weren’t suffering. She was just having fun. Although her parents didn’t like the idea of her partying so much, especially since she was underage. They didn’t really fight about it, but there were several tense conversations. Mostly she tried to not mention the frequent parties to either her parents or Nick. She did tell Nick about more of them than she told her parents, but not all of them, and she only told him about the drinking and nothing more. She reasoned he had too much on his mind to start worrying about her. After all, it wasn’t a problem for her. She had everything under control.
