CHAPTER 60

Wednesday came and went. The only Brianna did was wash clothes and put them away and do a little bit of lighthouse cleaning. The rest of the day was spent sleeping. It seemed lately she could never get enough of sleep. In her dreams she had visions of Mitchell and Nick. In her dreams she noticed they seemed to look a lot alike. Nick was a bit taller and his hair a bit blonder. Mitchell’s face was more narrow and his eyes were green, not blue. But they had that same crooked smile, long arms, fingers, and legs. Her dreams seemed to confuse them in what ever setting she was in. Like for instance, in her dream she was on tour with Mitchell and hanging around Gainesville with Nick. Nick was obsessing over being on time while Mitchell was late. But one thing her dreams didn’t confuse were her passionate memories with Nick. In her dreams they were very much still with Nick.

Waking up on Thursday she decided that she should start packing for her trip to see Nick. She probably wouldn’t much if any sleep tonight. Mitchell had a big date planned and she had a very early flight to Dallas. In fact, she was due to arrive in Dallas at the hotel before the boys. That was going to be strange. And Nick had emailed her that on top of meeting AJ for the first time since rehab she would also be introduced to a new bodyguard. He didn’t explain what had happened with Billy, just that someone named Eddie was now with him. She knew it was going to be a very busy visit. She knew that with everything the Boys were dealing with Nick would probably want to stay up late and talk after the shows. Brianna went to her jewelry box and looked to see how many of the White Cross she had left.

I can’t have used them all? She was shocked to see that they were completely gone. Well, maybe I should get a few more from Mitchell, just in case. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Tyisha showed up at 2:30 p.m. an ordered Brianna into the tub. She had different bath salts and a special shampoo for her hair. Brianna was in heaven having someone massage her head while she soaked in a steaming hot bath. The aroma rising from the water was more than relaxing and she found herself drifting off to sleep. A little bit later Tyisha was pouring cool water over her head to wash the conditioner out, and the sensation woke Brianna from her nap.

After the bath came a facial scrub, facial massage, and then a deep moisturizer. Tyisha went on and on about how important is was to take good care of your face and to always moisturize. They Brianna was instructed to show Tyisha what she planned to wear that night. Outfit in hand she returned to the living room to meet Tyisha’s approval.

“Good good. Now, I’m going to explain everything I do so you can hopefully be able to do it yourself the next time. Okay?” Brianna agreed and listening closely. She doubted she’d be wearing much make up in the future, it just wasn’t her, but learning never hurt anyone. By the time the process was over it was after 5 p.m. Brianna’s hair was pinned up in twist and she was heavily made up with dark eyeliner, mascara, lip liner and lipstick, and what she felt was too much blush. Tyisha proclaimed her complete and ordered her to go get dressed, that Mitchell would be here soon. Looking at the clock Brianna realized whether she liked the make over or not, it was too late to do anything about it. She had barely enough time to get dressed and pick up before Mitchell arrived.

6 o’clock on the dot there was a knock at the door. As she ran from the bedroom hurry and get the door Tyisha ordered her back into the room and said she’d get the door herself.

“Ty! You’re still here? Is she ready?” Mitchell was looking around Tyisha for his date.

“Come in silly. We’re just finishing up. I think she’s getting her shoes and stuff on. It’ll be just a second.”

“Oh.” Brianna had noticed the tone of Mitchell’s voice and wanted to scream that she was ready and waiting but figured she’d sound childish. Instead, she counted to 20, and walked casually out of her room. Before she could even say hello Mitchell had noticed her.

“Wow! You look amazing. Tyisha, I knew she was beautiful, but you really accentuated that beauty.” He held out his hand towards Brianna. “Come here. Let me get a better look at you.”

Grabbing her hand he slowly turned her around studying her outfit, her hair, and then when she faced him again he looked closely at her face. “Yes, this is perfect. Did she teach you how to do this?”

“Of course I did. Why wouldn’t I?” Tyisha answered.

“As always, Ty, you are amazing. Well, I am ready to go, are you?”

It was directed at Brianna but Tyisha answered. “I do believe my dear, that she is ready. Have fun you two.” Tyisha grabbed her bags and walked out the door.

“Shall we follow her?”

Brianna almost didn’t answer, half expecting Tyisha to answer for her again. But when Mitchell gave her a hard look she spoke up, “Oh, silly me. Of course I’m ready. Let’s go.” And they were out the door.

All night Mitchell kept telling how amazing she looked and how beautiful she was. He told her she should always wear her makeup that way, that it was perfect for her. Over and over he complimented her on her new look. He treated her to an intimate dinner in a private dining room at one of her favorite restaurants, one her parents would take her to only on very special occasions.

Then he surprised her with tickets to the theater to see “Big River.” It was a traveling company performing and not the local amature troups. After the show he had an even bigger surprise for her. They were invited backstage to meet the actors and to accompany them to the after party. Now Brianna had been to after parties with Nick, but to her they were just friends. This was something different. The whole time Mitchell kept asking everyone, “Doesn’t she just look amazing? Isn’t she so pretty?” It got to the point that Brianna was getting a bit embarrassed over his continual praise.
