Random Thoughts on Sports

Tim Duncan in his senior year as a Wake Forest Demon Deacon, John Elway of the Broncos and J.D. Drew of the Cardinals.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Karim Abdul-Jabar?- The tall one.

South Iredell Varsity Softball should just be called The Sheena Baily Show. Every game she goes 2-4 with an RBI and 12-something strike-outs.

OK, whats the big deal about Native American mascots? Tons of people are offended by the Cleveland Indian's Chief Wahoo but no one even mentions Notre Dame's Fighting Irish guy. I'm Scotch-Irish and I am in no way offended by the portrayal of an Irish person as a short pointy-chinned leprechaun. So why are all these Native Americans upset about a smiling Indian? Jeez. Also, if we have to get rid of Native American mascots than its only fair that we get rid of all human mascots. That means, besides the Fighting Irish, the Yankees, Vikings, Cowboys, Mariners, Canandians, Rangers, Raiders, Buccaneers, Pirates, Patriots, Celtics, Texans, Kings, Knicks, Steelers, Packers, Padres, 49ers, Royals, Brewers, Phillies, Athletics, Saints, Senators, and countless number of college and lower pro teams.

If Mike Piazza had charged Roger Clemens after Clemens threw that bat at him, it probabley would of been the most exiting moment in baseball history.

My teams:
College: Wake Forest and sometimes Tennessee in football but also whoever is playing against Duke or UNC .
Football: Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers
Hockey: Colordo Avalance and Carolina Hurricanes
Baseball: St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox (don't ask me why for some reason I've always pulled for the Sox and the Cards)
Basketball: San Antonio Spurs (Hornets used to be up here 'till they moved down to Naw'lins)

If someone says that _______ is the greatest qaurterback of all time, and there not saying the words Unitas, Montana or Elway, then they're wrong.

The 2 coolest names in sports today are Rob Konrad of the Dolphins and Ken-Yon Rambo of the Cowboys. But nothing beats Bronko Nagurski.

I never reached my full potential as fullback.

My right foot always gets messed up when i play basketball too much. The skin on the bottom is lose or something. But I still dominate.

How could John Elway not be on ESPN's Top 100 Athletes of all-time? Honestly, you can't possibly name 100 athletes better than John Elway. This especially bothers me since I'm a big Broncos fan. In my book and a lot of other people's books, Elway's the greatest QB of all-time, so that has to warrant mentioning in a Top 100 athlete list.

You know those in-game polls when there's some sort of controversy like, "Should the play be overturned?" or "Should LaRussa go to his bullpen?", and they put the question up, and then like 20 seconds later, 45,000 people have voted? Who the hell votes for these things? Are people sitting in front of their laptops, watching the game and saying, "Man, I can't wait for the next poll so I can vote again?" Can somebody commission a study on this?
