February 3, 2003 Dear Ridgewaync.com Visitors: My name is James Green. For those of you who don't know me, I am one of the driving forces behind this wonderful site. Ridgewaync.com is celebrating its 3rd year online this year. We have come a long way in these three years, but we still have a long way to go. At least once a week either I or the site's Webmistress receive an e-mail for one of you. Whether it is a question, a comment, or a concern, it is always welcomed. We do our very best to meet your standards, and if possible exceed them. Lately I have noticed a lot of e-mails coming in about a major issue that I would like to discuss. The biggest issue that I have noticed is the ads on the site. I receive a lot of e-mails that say "I love the site, but could you do something about the ads that keep popping up", or "I would visit the site more if the ads were no longer there". This concern is important, and we have not been ignoring it. In fact, we have made great strides to correct this issue. Currently, we have an issue we need you to help us address. Every year, it costs the Webmistress and me about $275.00 to keep the site up and running. This does not include the free time that Kristin Young (the Webmistress) donates. Every week Mrs. Young puts in approximately 35 FREE hours into the site. To rid the site of ads, we would have to get a paid web host. That would cost an average of $75.00 more each year. This would bring total yearly running cost to $350.00. I know that all of you who love the site would like to help, so we have devised a few methods to do so. There are currently two stores that you can purchase merchandise from. The "RidgewayNC Store" and the "Make Mine Bluegrass" store. All profits from both of these stores go straight to Ridgewaync.com.
