I am a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC with a politics/pre-law major and a history minor. Before graduating from Meredith, I worked as a legal secretary for the firm of Scudder & Hedrick, a plaintiff's workers’ compensation firm, for a year and a half. After graduation, I felt that additional experience working in the legal profession would be very beneficial to my career plans.
In June, 2003, I married James Edwin Reese (Eddie)and moved to Elizabeth City, NC with my new husband. Elizabeth City is located in one of the oldest and historically richest areas on the entire North American continent. Just minutes from the site of the first English colony and the first permanent English settlement, it is a beautiful old city with homes and buildings dating back to the American Revolution. Located on the Albemarle Sound in the northeastern corner of North Carolina just below the culturally rich and diverse area known as Hampton Roads, Virginia, but perhaps better known to outsiders as the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Newport News, and Suffolk, Virginia, Elizabeth City offers a variety of entertainment as well as a warm and friendly environment.
My husband is a graduate of N.C. State University and is a Service Forester for the North Carolina Forest Service.
Currently, I am working for the law firm of Cooper, Spong & Davis, P.C. in Portsmouth, Virginia. Cooper, Spong & Davis, P.C. is a firm with as rich a history as the area where it is located, and it has served the people of Hampton Roads and the Commonwealth of Virginia for well over fifty years. With so much history and knowledge surrounding me, my education never ceases!
