Well,
yes...
I´ve been off the net for awhile.
Or, not really off the net. More like off the web actually, as
I´m still spending too many hours on IRC.
Now, this is a page about me, so I guess logic suggests that
the page should update when my life does.
So does that mean I´ve had a
non-changing life...
for two months?
Nah...
I was thinking more along lines such as lack of inspiration,
melancholy and above all, laziness.
But enough about that.
Yesterday
was a big day.
16 hours ago, my nephew was christened Erik August Wilhelm
Heddini.
(So now it´s official! Give it to me! Give it
to me!)
It wasn´t subject to discussion. At least not
as far as I know.
Too many people in the involved families are too strong in
their faith for a discussion to be necessary... and as long as the
parents agree, why bother?
Though, I still harbour doubts. Not saying that I´m not
religious, because...
I do call myself a christian, and I do believe in God,
or at least
some kind of divinity,
but...
That does not mean - or give me any right to say - that any
other religion is wrong...
If people believe in God, Buddha,
Satan, Elvis
Presley,
Liam Gallagher,
or whatever they feel comfort them, who am I
to blame them (?), claiming myself to believe in that each and
every one of us have the right to a free will, and to form our
own opinion.
So, we have the right to believe in whatever we want,
"Then I saw her face...now I´m a believer..."
but when baptizing someone who isn´t
old enough to decide for
him/herself what to believe in (I´m one of them), we include
him/her into christianity, when that child just might grow up
into a hindu, an atheist, or whatever.
Of course,
it´s not like being christened means you´re obliged to go to
church or even believe and you can always leave it later in life,
but still... I don´t think that´s a decision that should be
made by
anyone but the one it concerns.
There
was a dinner afterwards. I didn´t have any time for
breakfast when I woke up (overslept of course) so I was more
than grateful for that.
And the clothing of course. People in jackets and ties
as far as
the eye can see. Nice. I guess.
But then again, is it really more beatiful to be dressed up? Why
does a jacket look better than a t-shirt, and why is trousers
more attractive with creases on? And those ties...
...though I wear one myself...
Quote of the moment, from a great movie:
B: "Que hora es."
F: "Que hora es."
B: "What time is it."
F: "What time is it."
B: "Time for bed..."
And another thing...should your name be Beatrice, I wish
you a wonderful morning and day...and I hope you´re
at least somewhat satisfied...;)
