Homer takes Marge to the Candy Industry Trade Show, leaving feminist grad student Ashley Grant to watch the children. At the show, Homer steals a rare gummy Venus de Milo. When he drops Ashley off at home, he notices that the Venus is stuck to her backside and he snatches it off--a move that Ashley mistakes for a sexual advance. Soon afterwords, outraged protestors calling Homer a sexist pig surround the Simpsons' home. They follow Homer everywhere, making his life unbearable. Homer agrees to sit for an interview with the tabloid reporter Godfrey Jones, who twists the story into a sensationalized, highly inaccurate piece for his TV show "Rock Bottom." After the story airs, the media descend on the Simpsons' home and monitor Homer's every move. At Lisa's and Marge's urging, Homer appears on public access TV and declares his innocence. However, no one watches him. Groundskeeper Willie informs Homer that he secretly records couples in their cars and shows Homer a tape of the Ashley Grant incident. The tape exonerates Homer and his life returns to normal. |
