The Simpsons go to a Renaissance Faire, where Lisa has her fortune read. The fortune teller describes how--in the year 2010--Lisa will meet her first love, the British-bred Hugh Parkfield...

Initially, Lisa hates Hugh but grows to love him. Hugh brings her home to meet his well-heeled family and asks for her hand in marraige. Lisa accepts. She phones home to to share the good news and to prepare the family for a visit, reminding Marge to make sure that Homer does not ruin anything. Sure enough, Homer's and Bart's plan to raise the British Union Jack over the house turns disastrous when the flag brshes their bug zapper and catches fire.

Although life with the Simpsons is anything but genteel, Hugh never complains. However, on their wedding day, he tells Lisa that after they are married they will never again deal with her family. Hurt by Hugh's insensitivity, Lisa hands him back the ring and calls off the wedding...The fortune teller ends her tale, explaining to Lisa that although she specializes in fortelling unsuccessful relationships, Lisa will have a true love one day.
