When Marge tells Homer to shut up, everyone applauds, embarrassing Homer. Dropping off Marge and the kids at home, he drives to a rowdy country western bar, where he listens to a beautiful waitress, Lurleen, sing a lonesome love song.

Several days later, still humming Lurleen's song, Homer drives back to the bar. He finds Lurleen and asks offers to take her to a recording booth at the mall. The booth attendant hears the song and offers to help air it on a local radio station. The song is a big success and Homer becomes Lurleen's manager. He spends more time with Lurleen than his wife, and Marge becomes jealous. Lurleen, attracted to Homer, asks him to spend the night with her but Homer feels guilty, and quickly leaves.

Realizing that Marge is the woman he loves, he sells Lurleen's contract to a music promoter for $50 and returns home to his wife and family. Marge and Homer watch Lurleen on television as she sings about how lucky Marge is.
