When Selma's prison pen pal is released, she invites him to the Simpsons' home to meet the family. To Bart's amazement, her new pen pal and new beau is his mortal enemy, Sideshow Bob. Bob shares his new, positive outlook on life, but Bart does not trust him, even after he asks Selma to marry him. Despite Bart's objections, Selma marries Sideshow Bob and sends back a videotape of their homeymoon. Watching the tape, Bart sees Sideshow Bob doting over his new bride. Although Selma is clearly in wedded bliss, Bart cannot help but feel something is not right. Realizing that Sideshow Bob is up to no good, Bart and the police arrive at the hotel just in time to save Selma from Bob's deadly plot. Bart explains to Sideshow Bob and Chief Wiggum how he figured out Bob's scheme. He explains that on the videotape, Bob vehemently demands a hotel room with a fireplace. Bart becomes suspicious because Selma lost her sense of smell in a freak bottle-rocket accident and would not notice a gas leak in the room. Bob could leave the gas on when Selma smokes her cigarettes--after meals and after her favorite TV show, "MacGuyver." Selma would blow herself up, leaving Bob her life savings. As the police take Bob away, he vows that he'll be back. |
