After defacing a wet segment of cement on the sidewalk, Bart receives a talk from Marge about respecting his town. Bart takes the talk to heart, and when Springfield's lemon tree is stolen by Shelbyville kids, he vown to get it back.

Bart leads an expedition of friends into Shelbyville. With a black wig and fake scar, he infiltrates the Shelbyville gang, but gets no information. Finally, the Springfield posse follows a trail of lemons to an impound lot.

Homer commandeers Flanders's RV and enlists the other fathers to find the children. When the parents and children meet up, Homer leads them to the impound lot where he demand the return of the tree. However, the lot's owner refuses and Homer's group retreats. Following Bart's Trojan Horse plan, they park the RV illegally in a hospital loading zone and are towed to the impound lot. After the sun goes down, the Springfielders get out of the RV and grab the tree. Taunting the Shelbyvillians, they narrowly escape and make their way home with the lemon tree.
