John Bartley,THE PIVOT MAN for the Dakota Fantail Association. He is a show promoter and a fantail breeder. Look for John at all the major shows and he'll always be willing to talk fantails with you. He may even promote his favorite color which is Andulusian.{Andulusian is spread indigo bar, preferably; free of any bronzing. Light checker will also give a nice andulusian. It is the fantail bronzing that mucks up the clear blue gun metal desired, coloration. If you think of Black Indigo's as kite based, and proper gun metal andulusian as blue base;Or, black indigo( because it is so dark and bronzy looking like black..or black indigo...possibly, then, also a saturated checker or even CT/T-pattern!) Brian Pogue was the first to ID these black indigo's..The thing that simplifys it: is some of these very darl indigo's are not even spread, and spread masks bronzing. Then, that is confusing, because indigo looks bronze on CT/ash and so Indigo may also be unmasking the hidden bronzes in both phenotypes...??? Archangel had the stongest KITE base of any breed.. back when they were pure Swiss imports... Like the Modens, were samll in the 1960's, but present day Modenas are KING bred. John has done a great job!
