20 APR 2002

My Day started at about 1030Am when I woke up. Just after I had checked my email for the morning My friend Josh stopped by And wanted Jeremy (my roommate) And I to go downtown with him. So we went to Kunsan City And stopped by Jeremy's Girlfriend’s work place and said Hello. After saying hello, we then went to Popeye’s and had some fried chicken since it was about noon, after eating we made out way to an arcade and played some video games. When we left the arcade we stopped by a few other shops and met a very drunk Korean man that wouldn’t leave us alone, witch made for an interesting few blocks until he turned his back to us and we ran away. After witch time we proceeded to "Mr. Luckey's" the drunken man somehow managed to find us on the way and we couldn’t get him to leave. When we got to the Store we told Mr. Lucky that this man is drunk and following us so, Mr. lucky told him he couldn’t come in the store. I found some very interesting I will have to buy and send back to the US. At this time one of the most interesting parts of the day happened. The drunken man came into the store so I went to the back and told Mr. Lucky. It was classic, Mr. lucky said "HE IS IN MY STORE?!?" so once again the drunk was kicked out and Mr. Lucky cussed him out in Korean. We told Mr. Lucky that we didn’t want to be followed so he let us go threw that back door, from there we walked to a Buddest Temple. The temple was very interesting! Jeremy got plenty of pictures. Once out of the temple we walked up the side of the hill it was built on and bought a camera from a street vendor and started taking plenty of pictures. The view from the top of the hill was quite a breathtaking view of the Yellow Sea (photos shortly). After walking around and looking at monuments we decided to take the Ferry across the bay witch cost all of 1,000 wan witch equals about maybe $.75. After the ferry station we stopped and ate once again at a restaurant that looked like a castle around 3:00 PM. From the restaurant we called a Taxi and went down the road a few miles to an amusement park where we roller bladed and played video games. It was 6:30 PM and Josh had to be getting back so we went to the Taxi Stop and waited for a cab for about 20 min. Once we caught a cab we where driving back to base and the sun was sting and we took pictures (the cab driver even pulled over so we could get a few better shots. Now i am at home tired thirsty and all of my Won spent. And that was a very fine day!

*After thought*
To top it all off; Jeremy and I went home and josh went out drinking and got in a fight. He had 5 days left here and got arrested I am verry glad I stayed home.

17 MAR 2002

Yesterday My friends Jason, Stein and I had a Basketball game against our new Korean friends. The stakes where hi; Losers had buy lunch. America prevailed so after about 2 hours of messing around on the basketball court we called it a day, and decided to meet at the base main gate in 2 hours. We went to a very famous restaurant in Kunsan city. The Restaurant was very unique is Customary to take shots of Soju (Korean liquor) while you eat. The main course was giant strips of bacon and there where all different kinds of side dishes. First you lay your pork onto a nice big Leaf and spread some bean paste maybe some oil or garlic or cabbage then you roll it all up and chow down. The side dishes looked pretty nasty but most of them where very nice. After we where finished, we all had around 5-7 shots we made a drunken romp a few blocks down the street to a karaoke bar where we sang stuff like Yellow submarine,  yesterday, Beautiful people and enter sandman. After it was all over we caught a cab back to base and made the death march back to the Dorms (because cabs from downtown cant come on base. By this time Stein was so drunk he didn’t know here we where or where we where going. It was pretty funny watching him fall in to bushes and flip off cabs that didn’t pick us up. All in all it was a wild night. Good thing I got plenty of pictures! As you know I am bad with names but here it goes Sung nam cho is the guy in the gray shirt he is one of the contractors that works in our area on base
