Ok I'm making a habit of this but I just got back from Semisonic's show here in Austin! Fantastic in one word...but this time we were perpared. I'm actually listening to a playback of the concert on my little taperecorder right now...ok here's the story...for any of you who read my other review a few days ago...this is chapter two and it looks like the end.

Ok we get to the venue about an hour and a half early (I'm gonna be in front this time) and there were 3 people waiting ahead of me and my brother...(only because they got the time wrong!) But were in good shape...we stocked up on film for the camera and we have some blank tapes for the taperecorders and we're early...perfect....see this is the part where something should go wrong...but nope we get inside...and we meet Meg...(we love Meg!) Meg is the sister of Remy Zero's lead guitar player and she was awesome...she filled us in on the band and was so enthusiastic I'm thinking of changing camps (Yeah right!). She was yelling and screaming every time the roadie came by to fix a mic...(imagine what she did when the band came out) Ok so Remy Zero came out and we heard them play another brilliant set...I can definately dig this band...the singing and guitar playing was immaculate but I think you guys are interested in another little band. Ok so Semisonic comes on out and of course the break out into FNT...tonight everything is really working...even better than Houston...here are a list of songs they played tonight FNT, Singing in my Sleep, DND, Never You Mind, California, Across the Great Divide, She's Got it all Worked Out, Closing Time, Completely Pleased, If I Run, Secret Smile, Erotic City, and a cover song by Split Ends...don't know the name..(don't even know the band...but a pretty good song). This of course is not the correct order...I'm just grabbing them from the corners of my head....ok to the highlights...like I said everything was just really working. FNT and Singing in my Sleep were fantastic. NYM was also well done. Before DND some guy had been yelling out DND since the beginning of the concert and Dan took an aside to say "you see this guy over here has been screaming in fear that he won't hear his favorite song...and now he's turned to desperation...(imitating the guy in an almost crying voice) 'fucking DND' and he will now turn to zenlike appreciation as we play DND" Closing Time was particularly stood out as everybody in the place was screaming their heads off during the chorus...California was the last song...and after the final verse Dan took off his guitar and walked right off stage (without even a goodbye) as John and Jake continued to Jam for another minute and with that our concert experiance was over...with me being able to get a poster off the barrier (since I was in front YEAH!!), a set list from Remy Zero, a drum stick which I think belonged to Remy Zero's drummer, (I found it before the show behind the barricade and later asked the guy if it was in fact his drumstick...(yes I did meet the band))...ok fast forward to after the show...I'm hyped and I think we should wait for the band again...so what if they think where stalkers...damn them for being so entertaining...so we wait...and this time Remy Zero is already hanging out so we get to talk to those guys and get autographs and pictures...our two friends got a tour of their bus...(don't ask me how...girls can get away with anything)...Meg had informed us that it was Dave Matthew's old tour bus (ooooooohhhhh)...it seemed that the Remy guys became really comfortable with us as soon as we dropped Meg's name...so we're lucky we've got a contact now....finally John and Jake emerged from backstage...only after about 10 minutes (much nicer than the hour it took in Houston) John and Jake both recognized us from a couple of nights before and were really nice. This time there were tons more people near the buses so we didn't have an oppurunity to chat much...This time we had a camera so I got to get my picture taken with two of my heroes. Very cool. But I"m sure you guys are wondering...what about Dan...where's Dan...did you get to talk to Dan....and the answer is yes...Dan came out and we ran over and asked him if he recognized us from the other night...and he said he did (again coz I think there were only 4 people and me and my brother are twins!...I don't think we could ever get away with a crime...people could always ID us) Well we asked him if we could get a picture and he said of course so we get posed and oops the camera doesn't work...so we fiddle for a second and again it doesn't work...so I suggest to Dan we should chat for awhile...again a few seconds of great conversation with Dan.....I'm getting a little to used to this...I think I'm gonna have some serious semiwithdrawl. So we get our pic and we get his signature on the poster we lifted on the barricade we're all happy... it's time to go home and the night couldn't have been any better!
