Tonight's show featured a career retrospective of Lucinda Williams (from 8 to 10pm) in honor of her birthday.

Lucinda was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 26, 1953.

The 2 hour special included songs from Lucinda's albums, various tribute albums, and several duets, as well as excerpts from a recent interview.

She's been nominated for 4 Grammy Awards this year:

Best Pop Female Vocal for her album Essence,

Best Rock Female Vocal for "Get Right With God",

Best Country Female Vocal for "Cold, Cold Heart" from the Hank Williams tribute album Timeless, and

Best Contemporary Folk Album, also for Essence.

Lucinda has also been named songwriter of the year by Time magazine, and has already written 10 new songs for an album to be released later this year.
