Three people are sitting on the steps. One of them looks a little too worse for wear. He hasn't said anything, doesn't try to quip. Only with her is that allowed.
She's quiet too. Not for his reasons but because she just doesn't know what to say. She sighs, and his arm is instantly around her shoulders.
The last person grows inside of her, and she can feel somehow that he's never going to get to know. She lets him hold her, doesn't break the silence. Sitting on this side of him, he can't see the tears on her face.
