After the show on May 9, 2003

This is the final page, the page about what happened after Vicki's show ended.

After Vicki came out and thanked everybody for coming out to see her, she went backstage, which signaled the end of her show. The lights came back on and everybody else filed out of the auditorium. The three of us ladies decided we'd stay in our seats and see if something happened if we sat there long enough. Sure enough, this lady (let's call her Mrs. H, she was the public relations coordinator) who was helping out with Vicki's show, came up to the three of us. She looked at me first, noticed my interpreter, looked at me again, and the following conversation ensued:

Mrs. H: Would you like to go backstage and meet Vicki?
Me (almost jumping out of my seat): YES!!!!! Please!
Mrs. H: Okay, then. Please follow me backstage.

With that, I grabbed my camera, put it around my neck and along with the two other ladies that were with me and several others that were with Mrs. H, followed Mrs. H up the flight of stairs that Vicki had came down when she first came out as Mama. Once we went upstairs, I was led down a dark and winding hallway and to a door. We went through the door and into another hallway, were we had to make a complete U-turn into yet another (bigger) hallway. Mrs. H then led the other people, the two ladies I was with and me into this big, empty room. We were instructed to stay in the room until Vicki appeared, which would be in a couple of minutes. I went to one side of the room and chatted with the two ladies for a few minutes, while we were all waiting. I could barely contain my excitement over the fact I was just minutes away from meeting Vicki Lawrence herself that I was ACTUALLY jumping up and down and squealing so much that the ladies both had to calm me down! Like I said before, I was chatting with the ladies - they both had their back to the door we came through, but I was facing the door, so I could see when Vicki made her grand entrance into the room. I was the one talking and then suddenly, I stopped talking because Vicki herself finally appeared! Mrs. H was right behind her, and when Vicki entered, she had her big famous Vicki grin on her face and was carrying her purse. She put her purse down on a table that was next to the door she'd just came through, and then she walked to one side of the room for pictures and whatever (everybody else that came to meet Vicki was on the opposite side). A few people that had came in before me all got their turn to talk to Vicki and have pictures taken with her.

When my turn finally came up, I seriously thought I was going to faint. I had such a HUGE smile on my face and it wouldn't go away, no matter what! I almost expected myself to start gushing the very moment I got up to her, but I didn't. Very calmly, my interpreter introduced me to Vicki and she told Vicki I was currently a senior in high school and just about to graduate in two weeks (I was wearing my "Class of 2003" shirt, so I showed Vicki my right sleeve, which said "Class of" in small letters, and "2003" in REALLY big letters). Vicki said, "Very cool!" to me, and then my interpreter turned to me and said, "Anything you want to say to Vicki?" and I said, "Yes!! Okay, first of all, I am your NUMBER ONE FAN (Vicki smiled her famous big smile when I said that), and I LOVE 'Mama's Family'! And, guess what? Sometimes I even get up at five in the morning just to watch 'Mama's Family'!" When my interpreter told Vicki about the last thing I said, Vicki's jaw ACTUALLY dropped! She said, "Wow! You're crazy! I can't believe you ACTUALLY get up this early just to see me!" and I just nodded. (I must've looked like a big, silly grinning dork who couldn't wipe the grin off her face!)

Next, Vicki put her arm around me and then Mrs. H readied the camera to take a picture of us.

The first picture of us together. I LOVE Vicki's smile in this picture, she's smiling her famous big grin, which I think is very cute! You can see part of my "Class of 2003" sleeve and the camera I have around my neck. I was SOOOOOO excited that I was ACTUALLY meeting Vicki and that she was ACTUALLY touching me, that I couldn't put my arm around her (yet)! Vicki was EXTREMELY pretty up close. She has the loveliest olive skin I have ever seen (and I'm not saying that just because I have olive skin too!), she had really pretty brown eyes and looked so pretty, even though she was in her casual clothes. She was also a bit taller than I expected - she's 5'6" and I'm 5'3". I totally could NOT get over how beautiful I thought she looked.

This was taken right after Mrs. H took the picture of me with Vicki. The lady on the left side was the interpreter that came along and the lady next to me, who is also smiling like a big silly dork, is Ms. S. Vicki isn't smiling as big as she did in the other picture -- bummer! After Mrs. H took this group picture of us, we walked to where we had been standing previously, and I said, "Wait - I don't want to leave just yet. I still have one more picture on my roll of film that I've been saving especially just for this moment." After working it out with the ladies, it was decided Ms. S would take a digital picture of us and the interpreter would take the final picture on my camera.

After Vicki finished with the final group of people, I walked up to her and said, "I want to take just one more picture on my camera." With that, Ms. S proceeded to take this picture (I don't know why it's so dark). Notice that I'm not holding my camera anymore and that I ACTUALLY have my arm around Vicki!! My free hand is clenched into a fist because I am just TOO excited! =D

Guess...Yep, taken on my camera. This is a much better picture than the one above. Now I can say I had FOUR pictures taken with Vicki Lawrence! Whee!

After I finished my mini-photo session with Vicki, she turned to me, offered her hand and I gave her a good, firm shake. She had really nice and very lovely hands with perfectly manicured nails! After we finished shaking hands, I said, "Thank you sooo much!" and she said, "You're welcome!" and smiled at me. My interpreter gave me back my camera, and then I started for the door Vicki'd came through. Right when I was heading for the door, I realized Vicki was RIGHT behind me! I went out and stood by the door, while Vicki went to the table by the door and picked up her purse. She walked right out and was standing right next to me. She looked at me one last time and smiled her famous big smile one final time. I waved good-bye to her and she did the same. With that, she headed down the other side of the hallway she'd came from, and the two ladies and I went down the hallway we'd came from. We went back to the auditorium to get the stuff that we had to leave behind and Ms. S said she wanted to take one more picture of me to say that it was truly one night we'll NEVER forget for the rest of our lives.

This is from as we were leaving. My face, HUGE grin and the two thumbs up says it all - "The Two Woman Show" was the BEST show I have ever seen (I definitely recommend going to see it!) and that I got to meet Vicki afterwards! YIPEE!!!!

- Angelfire is stupid and doesn't let you hit the "Back" button.
