My Meditation Page

. Hi, I hope this Guided Meditation will be of help if you are just starting to learn to meditate.

First find a comfortable position, either sitting crossed legged in a lotus position or on a straight chair shoulders dropped and your head feeling that it is suspended from the ceiling. Take a few deep breaths filling your whole body, breathe in and as you breathe out let all the tension go, breathe in relaxation, breathe out release tension. When you feel sufficiently relaxed begin your meditation.

Imagine that you are walking along a quiet country lane, the birds are singing and the trees are just breaking into bud a Blackbird flies by, its beak full of straw for its nest. Look about you and see the different shades of green, light green fields, darker green hedges, blue green hedgerow plants, yellow wild flowers. All these images fill your senses.

Step over the style into a meadow walk across the fields to a small wooded area and follow the path through to wood to a clearing across the other side. There is a view of the sea, a boat sailing near the horizon, water skyers and wind surfers, people swimming, waves breaking on the sand but where you are all you can here are the birds singing. Lie back on the grassey slope and watch the white clouds float in the blue sky. You can stay for as long as you wish. When you are ready to return just stretch and open your eyes, you will appreciate the beauty all around you as you see the world with refreshed eyes.
