on 2/7, @ koo's cafe on a rainy, motherfuckin' day:
hum (in somewhat scramble-eggs order):
pod
dreamboat (my friend & i screamed @ the shear loudness & heaviness)
iron clad lou
another song off of e2000 (i forgot, i'm sorry!!!)
ms lazarus (guitar goes out of toon for matt)
suicide machine (had the screeching-bird sample pre-set the mood before they
actually played, i love this song. matt talked a bit about the
song... "watching football on the couch, but my girlfriend doesn't
really watch it, have a cat here & one up there & drinking beer")
stars (hmmm, crowd-rocker?)
comin' home (may i have another? more rock! please)
if you are to bloom (matt skipped the note "...see meeeeeeeeeee" while
still playing his do-hicky, his face was bright red. i could
understand, this cafe was the lesser half of hell. sticky & sweaty)
closed w/i hate it too (what a song to end a great set, simply a good
pick for a closer
shiner was suppose to play @ the smell cafe on 2/8, but it was a last
minute add to a bill of local bands. i showed up, but i talked to allen
& they decided that it was way too late to play @ 1 in the morning on a
sunday night (monday morning). allen & i talked a bit about school &
about the future of music (& theirs, too). we even started to talk about
the pregression of albums for failure. what he's hoping for (as well as
i) is that the next album will be another growth for the band music
wise. there should be a new record out later this year, @ least that's
what they plan for now...
tonight, i will see them again in los angeles w/hum. once again!!!! amen
love everywhere,
kimo
