8 pm standing in the freezing (well not really but i was cold and wanted to see hum) outdoors saw Ryan Chavez #1 in line but we had to go to the end but were a nice middle of the line when we got to the door for under 21 people. we saw ryan again inside and we claimed our spots right in front of the stage, dead center. Chric Colley came from Dallas and I saw him there and said hello too. It was totally awesome to see him after a long time.

8:45 ish Sixteen Deluxe was the opener a spacey band i liked a lot. The front man wasnt a man it was a cute little redhead girl who had so much energy it was amazing. The lead guitarist went apeshit with the effects and the tremolo and everything, they rhythm section enjoyed the ride and did their fair share of the driving too. They will open in Austin too. They're a grade a local band. They played about 8 or 9 kick ass songs on a totally cramped stage and the best thing about it was the emotion and energy. Eacm member knew how he or she fit in and they were having the time of their life. Totally inspiring. I need to get out of lams ass waco and find a band.

9:30 during the break I met Suzy Sanders, home for spring break one day and back to austin the next day. She's awesome. Me and her and Ryan had the spots right in front of the stage, right under Matt's nose. It was cool how the stage was set, Sixteen Deluxe took their stuff off and it was set behind it for Swervedriver. I asked Ryan if they were any good and he said not really. He was right. I thought they sounded like the stoned guy at parties who thinks he's really deep but in reality he's just boring and/or annoying. It totally was not anything I had never heard before...i spent the set pondering deep philosophical topics like the difference between a thing and a fling and whatnot....i was sooo bored...by the time they played a good song (the last one, called Mustang) it was too little too late and then they came back with an encore. I kind of rode on the crowd's energy for the first 8 measures or so but then i realized this song was nothing to be excited about so i stuck my head in my hands and got really happy thinking about little green men.

11:-- after a lot of setup HUM took the stage and the crowd went fucking nuts. They opened with a nice 4 part intro and went straight into axolotls. Bryan miked ALL his drums...i thought it was weird and made for some messed up sound at the beginning but it was ok after that. It worked, so whatever. During the pod and periodically throughout the show some fucker would get thrown on stage and consequently out of the club. So later on we in the front row threw the crowd surfers toward the back. Then Hum played Dreamboat, Winder, and the best song of the show (IMHO) I hate it too. During the ending which they pulled out an extra 2 minutes or so I remember standing right up against the wooden chest high barricade in front of the stage, one hand on the other side of the barricade and the other on Matt's monitor hearing and feeling and thinking DONT STOP. After that was Ms Laz, then Comin Home, Suicide Machine (damn crowd surfers when i want to listen) Then Apollo (never heard a club so fucking quiet) Then Stars which everyone and the old guy next door sang. I have to say about Stars: TIM IS GOD. The last song was Iron Clad Lou. It confused the new HUMfANS who didnt know it. But they thought it was cool. Then during the instrumental at the end Matt jumped into the crown and so many people wanted to surf him or whatever the verb is that i got thrown to the fucking floor which sucked. But all went well and I got to help throw Matt back on stage. Then they left, we hollered for an encore (me: SCRAPER! SCRAAAPPPPEERRRRR!") but instead they played Green To Me andand it kinda bored me anyway, then I'd Like Your Hair Long. That was awesome.

2 am My ears havent stopped ringing....oooooohhhh...too much hum... but in less than 24 hours I am gona do it again, this is the fucking LIFE.
