*Gaap - Gaap, Tap, Zaazonash, Zazel. Prince and President. Appears as a human, accompanied by four kings. Teaches magical lore, grants familiars and teleports. 6th hour of the night. Rules 6 chiefs and 6 subalterns. As Zazel, he was one of the leaders of the 200 Angels who swore allegience to Samiaza and rebelled against God.

*Gaea - Greek goddess of the earth.

*Gaia -In Greek mythology, Gaia is terra mater, the mother Earth, and the oldest of the goddesses. She is the personification of the "all-mother", she who gives and takes life.

*Gallu - The Akkadian demons of the underworld. They are responsible for the abduction of the vegetation-god Damuzi (Tammuz) to the realm of death.

*Gama - The Japanese god of longevity. He is portrayed as a cheerful old man riding a stag. In his hands he holds a scroll full of secret wisdom.

*Gandarewa - A Persian water-demon who continually tries to devour the good things of creation. Eventually he will be defeated by the hero Keresaspa.

*Gandharvas - The Gandharvas were spirits of the air, forests, and mountains; they were the mates of the Apsaras. They are all male, and had differing descriptions. Sometimes they were seen as shaggy, damp, and dirty creatures who were part man and part animal; other times they were men with birds' legs and wings; the could be centaur-like, half man and half horse; or they sometimes were seen as fair men who had effeminate features. They were known for their musical skills, their power to cast illusions, and their skill with horses. They sometimes were the attendants of the devas, and would often combat human heros. If the hero was victorious, the Gandharva would help the hero on his quest, but if the hero lost, he would be carried away, never to be heard from again. The Gandharvas were also the protectors of Soma, which they guarded with jealous intent.

*Ganesha - Hindu elephant-headed god of wisdom, the remover of obstacles. He symbolizes good fortune and prosperity. His totem animal is the rat, a symbol of perseverence. One of the most popular gods in Hinduism; all sacrifices, rituals, music, books, and affairs begin with an invocation to Ganesha.

*Gao Yao - The ancient Chinese god of judgment. On his quest for injustice he is accompanied by a ram. He is also known as Ting-jian.

*Geb - "The Green Man". Egyptian god of the earth, symbolizes the element fire. Green skinned man with a goose on his head, often shown lying down beneath the feet of Shu with his phallus pointing straight up. He was said to imprison the souls of the dead, disallowing them to move on to the afterlife. His laughter caused the earth to shake.

*Gefion - Norse (Scandinavian) vegetation and fertility goddess. It is told that maidens who die as virgins become her servants. Gefion's symbol is the plough. A shapeshifter. She symbolizes fortunate turns of luck, magical arts, virginity, prosperity, luck, fertility, and agriculture/growth.

*Gekka-o - The god of marriage in Japanese myth. He binds the feet of lovers with a thread made of red silk.

*Gengenver - Egyptian fowl god in the form of a goose who laid the Cosmic Egg.

*Genius - Roman god who protected people and households.

*Geofon - In British mythology, the ocean goddess.

*Gerd - Norse (Scandinavian) earth goddess who married Freyr. She was a giantess, and considered very beautiful.

*Gerra - In Sumerian mythology, the god of fire, son of Anunitu.

*Geryon (literary-Dante) - Centaur/Dragon who guards hell. Blows a horn. Grants positions of power & honor. 8th hour of the day. Rules "many chiefs and subs." As Urakabarameel, he was one of the leaders of the 200 Angels who swore allegience to Samiaza and rebelled against God.

*Ghanan - A Mayan god of agriculture.

*Ghouls - The word comes from the Arabian ghul ('to seize') and used to denote an evil spirit or demon. An one-eyed fiend with wings and a animal shape, reputed to haunt graveyards and to feed on corpses. The term has come to refer to a person who deals with the deceased in any obscene, strange or diabolical way. Grave robbers are also known by this name.

*Gibil - Near Eastern (Babylonian) god of arbitration, symbolizes the element of fire.

*Girru - The Akkadian god of fire and light, the patron of civilization. He is the messenger of the gods.

*Glaisrig (Glaistig) - A Scottish Undine, beautiul and seductive, but a goat from the waist down (which she hides under a long green dress). She lures men to dance with her and then sucks their blood. Yet she can be benign, looking after children or old people or herding cattle for farmers.

*Goibhniu - An Irish/Celtic smith god, son of the goddess Danu. He manufactures swords that always strike true, and he possesses the mead of eternal life. He makes the arms for the Tuatha Dé Danann together with Credne and Luchtainel. As a brewmaster he was unsurpassed and his beer gave the drinker immortality. The Welsh called him Govannon.

*Gong De Tian - The Chinese goddess of luck. In her left hand she holds a 'wish-fulfilling' pearl. With her right hand she makes a gesture of boldness. She shows many similarities with the Hindu goddess Lakshmi.

*Gong Gong - A Chinese demon who is responsible for the great floods, together with his associate, the snake-like Xiang Yao. Gong Gong is the eternal opponent of the highest ruler.

*Gorgo (Greek) demon-dim, of Demogorgon, Greek name of the devil

*Gorgon - A Gorgon (from the Greek gorgos, meaning 'terrible') is a fierce or unpleasant-looking woman. In classical mythology there were three Gorgons, with serpents on their heads instead of hair. MEDUSA was their chief; the others, Stheno and Euryale, were immortal. They also had brazen claws and monstrous teeth. Their glance turned their victims into stone.

*Govannon - The Welsh smith god, the equivalent of the Irish Goibniu. Govannon is a son of the goddess Don and the brother of Gwydion and Amaethon. He slew the sea god Dylan, not knowing who he was.

*Gozu-Tenno - The Japanese god of plague.

*Graces - Greek goddesses of gracefulness and the charms of beauty. They were the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome. The gods were delighted when they danced to Apollo’s lyre. They were constant attendants of Aphrodite. They were young, beautiful, modest, and perfectionists of gracefulness. They were named Aglaea (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth), and Thalia (good cheer). Also known as the Charites.

*Grannus - The continental Celtic god of healing, associated with mineral springs. The center of his cult was Aquae Granni (Achen, Germany). His consort is the fertility goddess Sirona. The Romans identified Grannus with their Apollo.

*Gressil - demon of disease in the first Hierarchy.

*Grian: ('Sun') - Irish. A Fairy Queen with a court on Pallas Green Hill, Co. Tipperary. Also a general Goddess symbol.

*Gruagach, The ('The Long-Haired One') - Scottish. Female fairy to whom the dairymaids used to pour libations of milk into a hollow stone.

*Guan-di - "Emperor Guan", the Taoist god of war. He opposes all disturbers of the peace. He is charged with the task of guarding the realm against all external enemies, as well as internal rebels. He was also called upon during spiritualist seances to provide information about people who had died, prophecies concerning the future, and knowledge about divine recompense or retaliation for good and evil deeds. Guan-di was also revered as a god of literature since he supposedly memorized one of the classics of Confucianism, and as patron of bean-curd sellers. His immense popularity rests particularly on his supposed power over demons and evil spirits, and his ability to prevent war.

*Gucumatz - Mayan god of farming, agriculture, civilization, and domestic matters. He was said to live in heaven and hell at the same time.

*Guecufu - In the myths of the Araucanian people of Chile, Guecufu was the king of demons and arch-enemy of Guinechen. He was always sending plagues, floods and other disasters to wipe out Guinechen's mortal creations, and Guinechen's interventions - and therefore die war between the two supernatural beings - guaranteed not only dissension in die universe, but also its continuity.

*Guecubu (Chili) - Evil spirits.

*Guinevere - In Celtic mythology, Guinevere or Guinever, is the French spelling of the Celtic name Gwynhwfar ('white cloud'). Gwynhwfar was a cloud-goddess who often, for mischief, took mortal form and entered the world of humans to cause havoc.

*Gun - A Chinese earth god, a grandson of the Yellow Emperor Huang-di. When he failed to stop the deluge, already reaching the heavens, by building dams, he is degraded to an associate of the demon Gong Gong. According to another myth he was killed by the god of fire.

*Gwydion - Celtic (Welsh) warrior and magician god. Father of Lleu and Dylan.

*Gwynn ap Nudd - Celtic (Welsh)-Celtic god of the underworld. Originally a war god who hunted men's souls and lead them to Annwn, the land of the dead. In Celtic (Welsh) legend he is the king of the faeries and elves. Also known as Gwynwas. He abducted Creiddylad when she eloped with Gwythr ap Greidawl. She had long been fought over by the followers of Gwynn and Gwythr. This fight (which started on May Day) is believed to represent the seasonal contest between summer and winter.
