~*Chapter Six*~

"Morning," Leesa called cheerfully, as she came out of the bathroom. Howie was still wrapped in the sheets, with a blissful look on his face. She sat down beside him and kissed the top of his head softly. He stirred, and without opening his eyes pulled her down to kiss her. She closed her eyes as their lips met. As they broke away from each other, their eyes opened at the same time. Howie smiled, saying, "I just wanted to make sure last night wasn’t a dream."
"Nope. Believe me, there were dream elements, but there was no actual dream."
"Mmm, good."
She lowered her lips to his again, and gave him a quick kiss.
"Come on, you’ve gotta get up for rehearsal," she instructed him.
"Oh, boo."

Leesa and Howie walked in to rehearsal early. She looked at him mischievously.
"Should we take advantage of this momentary lack of supervision?" she asked slyly. He replied with a kiss, and together they moved to the back of the auditorium. Whilst the two of them were making out in the back, the rest of the ‘cast’ as Fatima liked to called them, assembled on stage. She looked around.
"Where are Howie and Leesa?"
Brian cried, "Are those two at it again? Someone give me a crowbar!"
Everyone but AJ laughed. He couldn’t help the old feelings of jealousy stirring in his heart every time someone mentioned the two of them in the same sentence. He put it behind him, and as he looked out at the auditorium, he spotted the both of them. He called out to them, and received no responce.
The couple, oblivious to anything else, were still going strong. In the end, Kevin had to go up to the both of them and break them apart. The three of them walked up to the stage, Kevin between Leesa and Howie. Leesa was smiling brightly, and Howie had a sheepish look on his face. The rest of the ‘cast’ applauded, as Leesa stepped up on stage and took a bow. AJ burst into laughter, partly cos he thought it was funny, partly cos he was about to cry. He walked off stage with the rest of the guys as the crew tested the sound levels out with the opening bars for "Midnite". He glanced back to see Leesa stretching, to warm up. It seemed that Howie had already warmed her up enough, but he didn’t want to start anything.

As rehearsal came to an end, AJ walked quickly up to Leesa.
"Buff? I gotta talk to ya," he said, quietly.
She knew straight away that he needed to talk about something important. He hardly ever called her Buffy. Her pet name was used only when he had something really important came up. She made arrangements to meet him in his room when she’d had a shower and stuff. That meant that she had to call off her date with Howie, but she was prepared to make that sacrifice for her best friend.
She walked up to Howie, who had his back turned. She snuck up behind him and kissed the side of his neck. He turned around, surprised.
"What was that for?"
"I dunno… couldn’t help myself!"
"Kay, that’s a reasonable answer!"
"Look, I can’t go out tonight. AJ needs me, and I can’t leave him the way he is. You understand?"
"I ‘spose I don’t have a say? No, I understand. Tell him I hope he feels better."
"Thanks for being so understanding. Don’t worry, though, I’ll make it up to ya!" She smiled slyly as she moved away. He ran after her, and kissed her as though she was going away for a month.
"I’ll remember that…" he promised, smiling.
Smiling back, she walked away.
