Maureen Johnson is a performer who used to date Mark, but dumped him for Joanne. She flirts with many people of both genders- notably a certain "woman in rubber" that we hear about. Her origins are of dubious nature- the broadway script says she is from Hicksville, Long Island while other tour groups seem to think she is from New Jersey. She and Joanne are constantly fighting because of her rather controlling nature. Maureen incited a riot by her protest piece, "Over the Moon", which spoke out against the clearing of a tent city by Benny. She was played by Idina Menzel in the OBC and Carla Bianco in the Benny Tour.
