Roger is a rock musician and an ex-junkie. He has played gigs at CBGB's. He and his roommate Mark have purely bohemian lives: they are artists living in a small flat, unable to pay their rent. Roger's old girlfriend, April, committed suicide after finding out that she and he have AIDS. Throughout the show, Roger is trying desperately to find one last song to write before he dies- his own personal blaze of glory. He is in love with Mimi, a dancer and junkie but is afraid to admit it. Roger hides his emotions and doesn't tell people his true feelings. Adam Pascal played Roger in the original Broadway cast, Christian Mena in the L.A. "Benny Tour" cast.
