Chris and Eve have a complex relationship.  In this weekly newsletter, we--the fans--take an in depth look at what's going on in the lives of this pair of friends.  We'll examine their careers, their loves, their adventures, and their miseries.  Each week will contain spoilers, fan interviews, polls, trivia, updates on each character, speculation about their futures, and weekly excerpts of fan fiction dedicated to this duo.

Ian makes a controversial suggestion which just might save Arianna' life on Monday, May 7. Meanwhile, Eve ponders how best to answer a proposal from Chris on Tuesday, May 8.

Is Ian Losing Eve to Chris?
Still reeling from the news that she's pregnant, PORT CHARLES' Eve this week finds herself on the receiving end of a proposal from the last person she expected: Chris!

Chris Plays Papa:
With Arianna's health declining and Ian glued to his wife's bedside, Eve realizes this might not be the best time to share her news. Needing a confidant, she opens up to Chris, who escorts her to the OB/BYN, not bothering to correct those who assume he's the dad. Liking his new role, Chris suggests to Eve that they could provide the child with the happy family neither of them ever had!

Eve's New Man?
Plagued by images of growing old with Chris, Eve heads to the cabin, running into  Ian along the way. As she evades Ian's questions, Chris shops for a ring and fantasizes about the life he and Eve will have together.

But when Eve meets yet another handsome man  during her time away from Port Charles, could both Chris and Ian find themselves relegated to also-ran status!

After a long courtship, a non-wedding, marriage to others, and a hard-won reunion, are Kevin and Lucy finally headed for (gasp!) {That was SID's gasp} happiness?  Having taken a back seat  during PC's sci-fi based Time in A Bottle arc, the popular pair will step forward for this summer's romance-based book, to kick off in June.

"The next arc, I hope, is about how to have a successful relationship, still be sexy, seduce each other and be entertaining *without* trauma and breaking up all the time," Herring offers.  Adds co-star Lindstrom, who similarly looks forward to adding a new dimension to Kevin and Lucy's romance:  "They're not going to look at things the way that they did the day they split up.  It will be a re-courting process.  There's lightness and comedy... It's about enjoying each other and learning new things."

While they have more than demonstrated their ability with dramatic material, it's the comedic banter these actors enjoy most.  Notes Herring with a smile:  "It feels so good to have people come up and say, 'You guys were so funny
today!'"
 

Michael Easton (ex-Tanner Days) is joining Port Charles starting May 11th and going all summer.
Major story - Eve is pregnant with Ian's child. Eve doesn't share the news with Ian, which she discovers after being tested as a possible liver donor to Arianna. Ian's sister is working to bring Ian and Eve back together, appearing as Ian's ''conscience''.

May Sweeps -

Eve receives a shocking marriage proposal from Chris.
At the cabin Eve meets a handsome stranger who will play a prominent role in her and Ian's lives as well as the next book
Ian holds a vigil by Arianna's side, looking for a way to save her.
When Frank realizes how he has changed the lives of everyone around him and lost the love of his life, he is determined to right the wrong at any cost. ''Frank goes back in time.'' His actions may affect the course of history. ''Can he get back? Will this kill him?''
Kevin and Lucy try to find out the key to Frank's mystery.
Jamal is forced into a dangerous motorcycle race, which will kick off book three.

Wed April 25th - Frank and Karen make love.
Thur - The mystery of Cookie is revealed.

Karen's fear of returning to her drug addiction may stop her from saving Arianna's life.
Frank realizes he is communicating with someone from 1973, leading to an intriguing encounter with Nellie.
Jamal learns the truth of Alison's financial windfall and turns to Jack for assistance.
Cookie works to make friends but continues to bond with booze.
Ian dreams of Eve and Arianna then has a vision from his past.
Frank tries to convince Cookie to maintain her innocence.
Jack agrees to join Livvie, Kevin and Lucy for dinner
Nellie shuts down when Cookie passes out and Karen mysteriously disappears!

SPRING PREVIEWS

The title of Book Two is 'Time In A Bottle,' and the emphasis is on love and romance.

Eve|Ian|Arianna: Time will terst the depths of Ian and Eve's love, as choices in the present could destroy their future. The bond becomes stronger between Ian and Arianna. arianna isn't just an obstacle for Ian and Eve. She is a real person who's been afected by soemting hugely traumatic, which elevates the stakes foe everybody involved!

Lucy|Kevin: Now that they've finally made their way back to each other, Kevin and Lucy try to find their footing while scheming to protect those they love.

Frank & Karen: Frank is intrigued by inexplicable computer messages and makes a decision that changes the course of his life and others. Everything will come full circle. The big payoff to their journey happens at the end of the book in week 13.

Chris|Livvie|Jack: The triangle of Livvie and the Ramsey brothers "comes to fruition" when Livvie must face a harsh reality.

Alison|Jamal: The young lovers strive to make their dreams come true, even when "tough obstacles are encountered."

Joe|Gabriela: While offering support to their friends, Joe and Gabriela share an excursion abroad and are reminded of Joe's one-year anniversary of his HIV test. "Joe's gone through two test in which he was negative, so it's time for another, which brings its own set of complications."
