Your Letters
Once a peasant!
Well your reality of cyprus is just perfect ... it shows how the beaurocracy
works .. it is a total disaster area as far as logic is concerned .
You have mentioned specifically how the system works if you have mega money
it's "yes sir, by all means you can have a loan" .... if you haven't, well tough
luck!.... typical of the small mindedness of the little brains they have ...
As for the political scene, well even that sucks, all these parliamentary
officials with there BMWs ..they think they are important people but in
reality they are only jumped up peasants..30 years ago they were riding
donkeys ... and living in mud huts and now they think they are the cats
whiskers!!
Well that's Cyprus ... the island is beautiful and seeped in history but as
for the people .. once a peasant always a peasant!
From my experience of Cyprus.

WHATS UP ? - WHY THE ROAD OF COURSE !!!
Lets set the scene,
It's coming up to Summer Time again, all of those businesses that have struggled through the winter to
get by, start rubbing their hands, with the prospect of some much needed business coming their way.
They open their doors, put out their tables and chairs and then wait and wait and wait," where is
everybody this year?"they ask in unison. Then they look at the road, Oops sorry "dirt track!" that is meant
to be the main Larnaca/Dhekelia road, in fact most dirt tracks around Cyprus are in better condition
than the "main road"!!
What is up with the authorities, are they hell bent on putting Cyprus out of business or what?!!
What a great advert for the Cyprus who wishes to get into the EU.
When the government start to pay for my monthly tyre and wheel change, because of potholes, I may
think of paying my road tax !!!!!!

I HAVE JUST READ THE LETTERS THAT YOU PUT ON NETSCAPE. YOU ARE A
DISGRACE. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CRITISIZE CYPRUS AND MAKE OTHER PEOPLE
THINK THAT CYPRUS IS A JUNGLE, YOU MOTHER....!!!!
MY NAME IS ALEXIA ANN I WAS BORN IN LIMASSOL-CYPRUS. SORRY FOR SAYING
THAT BUT I FEEL PITY FOR YOU. I FELT VERY FRUSTRATED FOR READING ALL
THOSE THINGS ABOUT CYPRUS.
MY ADVICE: MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
CYANEWS REPLY:
Hello Alexia,
Naturally I appear to have ruffled a few
feathers...probably because the truth hurts sometimes! Fortunately
we live in a Democracy where freedom of speech is the right of every
human being...and being in the U.S.A you will no doubt appreciate
that that is a fundamental right.
If you cannot appreciate the lighter side of ridicule, or even perhaps
some constructive criticism of a Country like every other, which has it's
problems...some that NEED to be highlighted every now and then, then
it would appear that YOU are burying your head in the sand! We do not
live in the perfect world, and If I am a disgrace to my culture and race
for simply airing my opinions on a system that clearly has it's faults,
just like every other country....then I'm sorry, but you would appear
to be the one with the problem. You cannot sit there and tell me that
the Cyprus beauracratic system does not need a kick up the ass, just the
same as I cannot say that the USA is a flawless diamond, and to insult
someone for having the right to air an opinion is rather narrow minded.
I am Cypriot and proud of it, The Island is beautiful, and the people
are great..most of the time...but if we shut up and put up with everything,
then simply nothing will improve or change....that is why
we are fortunate to have a democratic system with political parties who thankfully
do not agree with each other...and are not frightened or bullied into keeping
quiet by people who put national pride over common sense!
If you cannot put your hand on your heart and think for one minute that
maybe some of what I have said is the truth....then I have pity on you...
for you must simply have been ignoring what goes on around you all these
years.

HAVING READ YOUR LETTER I FEEL SAD THAT YOU FEEL THE WAY YOU DO ABOUT CYPRUS . YOUR
LETTER DISPLAYED ALOT OF JEALOUSY AND NOT MUCH CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM . IT MUST HAVE
BEEN A SHOCK FOR YOU TO SEE HOW US CYPROIT PEASANTS HAVE PROGRESSED , NO MORE
DONKEYS IN SIGHT , JUST BMW'S .. 30 YEARS AGO WE BUILT OUR HOUSES WITH STONE NOT MUD ,
MOST OF THESE HOUSES ARE STILL STANDING AFTER COUNTLESS EARTHQUAKES WITH SOLID
FOUNDATIONS .
THE REST OF YOUR LETTER IS NOT WORTH COMMENTING ON .
I HAVE TO GET TO MY BMW NOW , GOODBYE AND GOOD LUCK FOR THE FUTURE .
