In 1943 steel pennies were issued due to the copper shortage. In 1944 and 1945 cartridge cases were salvaged for coinage, their color in uncirculated condition were slightly different than copper. The luster of this 3 color combination is enhanced by the light shining through the thick glass and reflecting off these brilliant specimens. The 1943 steel pennies are reconditioned to restore luster. The other 12 are all brilliant uncirculated specimens.
