3 March 2001: National team manager Stephen Constantine has said that reports that Ganesh Thapa has told the AFC that he no longer requires Constantine's services are false. On the contrary Thapa is eager to hold on to Constantine, but could find many difficulties in doing so because of the ANFA feud. Constantine says that Thapa has actually fended off attempts of various other parties who wanted to acquire his services.

21 February 2001: Top national team players today at a press conference stated that they would not train for either ANFA faction until the ANFA dispute has been resolved. Bal Gopal Maharjan, speaking on behalf of the players, said that they were very confused on which faction to train with thus they would not train until the ANFA dispute is resolved.
