How to make your own IE Logos.
This process only applies to window95®
Unfortunately I currently donot have the ability to
change the logo's in windows 3.x®.
Step 1. | Choose an animated gif or make your own animation. |
Step 2. | Edit the individual frames
of the gif and save as bitmaps. Note: For 640 x 400 displays the frames need to be resized to 35 x 35 pixels for full display, and 28 x 28 pixels for minimized display. |
Step 3. | The individual frames then
need to be assembled into a single column and saved as a
bitmap. This is your logo replacement. It takes a little practice to master the spacing of the frames. Hint: Place your first frame in twice for smooth animation. |
Step 4. | Back up your registry. This step is a definite must! |
Step 5. | Place your two logo bitmap files (i.e. full and minimized sizes) in your windows directory. |
Step 6. | Edit the Registry. Under "[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar]" you will find BrandBitmap and SmallBrandBitmap, under these setting you will change the default settings to point to your logo files. Example: C:/windows/logolarge.bmp The 35 x 35 logo is for the BrandBitmap setting and the 28 x 28 logo is for the SmBrandBitmap. |
