"Reitanna Oinin"

The eldest brother of Kazama family in Samurai Shodown, Kazama he is the "oinin" - a ninja assigned by the clan leader to eliminate the nukenin (Kazuki). His task is simple enough…kill the nukenin as well as investigate the arising danger in Shimabara. An easy job to perform - if the target wasn't one of your own blood. In Samurai Shodown 4, our questions are left unanswered as to whether or not Sogetsu actually killed Kazuki or not because of the sudden change in surrounding. At first, a confrontation among the two where Sogetsu raises his "water bubble" to attack Kazuki, but then the ending shows Sogetsu before his leader, claiming that it was "a piece of cake" to assassinate Kazuki with a sly smirk.

Yet, in Kazuki's ending; it seems that Sogetsu spared Kazuki; because Kazuki and Hazuki (the two brothers' sister) escape off into the forest away from the oinin and other ninja of their clan. With the release of both Samurai Shodown 64 and Samurai Shodown 64 Part II, It's now safe to assume that Kazuki was spared by Sogetsu due to both of them appearing in the 3-D sword fighting video game. But what'll happen if they meet again? Will Sogetsu spare Kazuki once more out of love for his family or appease his clan's leader by ridding them of the nukenin…?
