Lucy Maud Montgomery was a wonderful person. She was born November 30, 1874 in Clifton Prince Edward Island. Her parent's names were Clara Woolner Macneil, and Hugh John Montgomery. Lucy never really got to know her mother well because, after Lucy turned 2 years old she died. Lucy wished she got to know her mother.

Lucy's father couldn't take care of her so she went to live with her grandparents. Her grand parents lived in Cavindish Prince Edward Island. She lived with them all throughout her school life. She loved her grandparents but she wanted to live with her dad in Saskatchewan.

"In she got married to Rev. Ewan Macdonald July 11, 1911 in Prince Edward Island. They had three children together. All the children were born in Leakdale. The intire Macdonald family moved to Norval, Ontario in 1926.

Lucy's husband Rev. Ewan Mcdonald was in charge of two churches:

St. Paul Presbyterian church. , Lakedale, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Zephyr, now the home of the Uxbridge-Scott Museum Curator, Allan McGillivary."

Rev. Ewen Macdonald died in Toronto December 1943 and was buried at Cavendish, Prince Edward Island.

She always wrote stories and poetry but she never sent them in to a publisher because she was scared she would be rejected. So one day she wrote to her penpal in Alberta. He told her to send her stories to him to read. Lucy was not sure if he would send the stories in to a publisher if he liked them. Instead he sent them back to her and told Lucy to try and get her stories published.

Two years after she sent the stories in to the publisher she got a letter saying she was published. The Anne of Green Gables stories turned into a Best Seller.

Lucy Maud Montgomery was a wonderful person. She died April 24, 1942 at the age of 68 in Toronto, Ontario. She was barried in Cavendish Prince Edward Island.
